Update #61

01/01/20
Happy new year! Finally, after some stressful end of semester, year's finally over and so is Update #61 with the WorldEmber challenge articles. While I've been mostly silent, a lot has been happening behind the curtains. I started a new blog to talk about the things I love, the team's been having some great new ideas, and I have a new plan for 2020. I decided that now is time for me to focus more on drawing instead of writing, so updates here will be quite slower. But in exchange, all articles will soon have new, shiny drawings to decorate them. Yay!

  • NEW ARTICLE: Arvensis, a farming town in the Flatlands, an extension to the spellfarming production;

  • NEW ARTICLE: Dorothy Phadrig, Archmagus of the Arcane Development Program;

  • NEW ARTICLE: Flatlands, the vast lowlands near the coast of Archana;

  • NEW ARTICLE: Hrastgar, the City of Heroes, standing in the center of Archana;

  • NEW ARTICLE: Hrastfolk, the strong and stalwart people of the Oaklands (unfinished) ;

  • NEW ARTICLE: Portbail, (in)famous Rover city, center of all pirate trades;

  • NEW ARTICLE: Springdrop Sanctuary, elven town responsible for Archana's supply of spellfarmed materials;

  • NEW ARTICLE: The Huntmaster, Commander of the Blackguard, self-proclaimed Hero of Archana;

  • NEW ARTICLE: Vilennor, the mining city responsible for Archana's wealth;

  • Five new mini-articles added for each remaining Beacons of Unity;

  • And I forgot to post an update for my Inktober entries due to college stuff. So here they are.

Update #60

30/09/19
That's it! This is all I could manage to get out before Inktober. For the next month, I'll only be drawing for Inktober. Oh, did I mention Inktober starts tomorrow? I'm really excited for Inktober. :D   INKTOBER!

  Update #59

Update #59

21/09/19
Yay! For this update, more articles and other small things to round out the new things from the SC'19. And of course... I got my Journeyman Subscription! YES. For the next update, I'll release it next week instead of the usual 2 weeks. October in near, and so is Inktober! With college now, I'll have to completelly halt all the writing to be able to keep up with the challenge. And I hope I'll better able to draw things faster, as nearly all prompts last year took me my entire days to finish. But I'll do it! >:D

  • New Journeyman Guild Subscription!

  • NEW ARTICLE: Beacons of Unity, Archana's fire-based invasion alert network;

  • NEW ARTICLE: Cliffers, mountain dwarves of the Hawkcliff Citadel;

  • NEW ARTICLE: Eye of Tiamat, a triangular symbol recurrent in the culture of Archana;

  • NEW ARTICLE: Maine Family, the royal family, descendants of the first King of Archana;

  • Lady Amice's life history was finally fully rewriten after being lost somehow;

  • Changed the interface theme for the world from the standard to "Dungeons and Dragons";

  • Fixed some all-capital headers that are now evident in the new theme;

  • Reorganized some of the article under parent articles;

  • Updated the Shrine of Enlightenment article with the new information regarding the Eye of Tiamat;

  • Fixed a typo in the title of the Shrine of Enlightenment (a missing "e") ;

  • Updated the rushed Archana's Gazes article.

  Update #58

Update #58

07/09/19
And we're back in the game once again! While I could barely rest from Summer Camp since now I'm going to college once again, it was about time I get Aequus back on track. So yeah, here's a bunch of things that the challenge left for me to write about. And there are still more left to do!

  Update #57: SC'19

Mega-update #57: Summer Camp 2019

01/08/19
Finish line!! Finally, Summer Camp is over and I managed to get all 30 articles done! The greatest challenge was that I was unable to write anything up until July 13th, and that REALLY made things harder on me. The only reason I was able to get so far, was thanks to my new team! The three of them came in right on time as I was struggling to keep up with the deadline, and helped me with the ideias, brainstorming, and sometimes even with the writing itself! I don't deserve the gold medal for my own, so I'll make sure to keep it very clear that, without them, I'd have probably gotten only bronze, of maybe even silver if I died on the way. Thanks a lot!

  Update #56

Update #56

01/07/19
Due to some real life resposibilities, I wasn't able to write two of the seven articles I was supposed to write, but on the flip side, I deleted two drafts about things I decided I shouldn't include in the campaign, leaving me enough space for the Summer Camp articles. So yeah, time to begin!

  • NEW ARTICLE: Kaldarian Deserts, the scorching and mysterious lands of the middle East;

  • NEW ARTICLE: Maelstrom, the legendary ship of Deepsea and his crew;

  • NEW ARTICLE: Maelstrom's Crew, famous pirate Rovers, following their captain Deepsea;

  • NEW ARTICLE: Shades, small creatures formed from darkness itself to serve their master's purpose;

  • NEW ARTICLE: Spellforging, a ritual to enhance weapons and other items with limited magic;

  • Deleted the Dragon's Eye Monastery article and removed all mentions to it;

  • Deleted Friedrik Maine's article and removed all mentions to him;

  • Updated Abraham II's article to accomodate the change above and other changes in the world's story.

  Update #55

Update #55

15/06/19
Whoops, one day late! Alwer's and Muriel's articles took waaaaay more work than I expected, and I had to take yesterday to round things out. Still, here it is, and... Just one more update left before Summer Camp!

Mmmmmagic! Thanks to an insight I had 2 weeks ago, for this update I've decided to give an upgrade to the articles regarding the elements of magic. Along with that, a few other fixes here and there and the article on Void, a concept I've been working on for a while now.

  • NEW ARTICLE: Void, a concept that represents the lack of magic;

  • All of the articles on the Elements of magic have been updated with the "Interactions" section, aiming to explain how they interact with one another;

  • Small changes and grammatical corrections have been made to all of the articles mentioned above;

  • Thanks to Grammarly, now we'll have 142% fewer typos and mistakes!

  Update #48

Update #40

31/10/18
Wooooooo! Long month, long challenge, very satisfying conclusion! Finally the Inktober has come to an end. Again, my gratitude to the WorldAnvil team is huge, for this opportunity to push myself to my limits once again. So, here's the updates - and let WorldEmber come once again!

  Update #39

Update #39

16/10/18
Since I started writing Aequus here in WA, I decided against using external images because I wanted to make my own someday. I've been so busy writing that I have barely made any drawing since the beginning, and now with Inktober here, I've had "no option" but to get going with it :P So for now (and for the rest of the month at least) this patch is full-on drawing mode!

  Update #38

Update #38

26/09/18
Aaaand here it is! After a deserved break (and being busy with other stuff), update 38 is here! With this, the revision of pre-Summer Camp articles is complete. Now it's time to move on to the 30 articles of the WASC, before I can actually go back to creating new stuff.

  • A tooltip was added instead of a link in every instance where "Arcanopia" and "Nation of Nouvemond" is mentioned (articles starting from S to W) ;

  • Excerpts also added as the subheading in every article (articles starting from S to W) ;

  • Fixed countless typos and small improvements made to writing made in nearly all articles (articles starting up to W) ;

  • Added a quote for immersion in the introduction of every article (articles starting up to W) ;

  • Name of the article "Blight Woods" changed to "Blightwoods" in every instance it appears in other articles (articles starting from S to W) ;

  • A tooltip was added in every instance where the elements of Order and Chaos are mentioned (articles starting from S to W) ;

  • Fixed a number of article links that were not showing the excerpt as tooltips on mouse-over (articles starting up to W).

  Update #37

Update #37

15/08/18
After some rest from the burnout caused by the Summer Camp, I was asked by my friends to DM a new campaign. I decided to replay one of my old stories in Aequus and thought it would be a good idea to use WorldAnvil's campaign system. Due to this, I have been quite busy prepping everything and writing articles for the game, leaving me little time to work on Archana. I'll refrain from adding those articles to these update notes, as they are all in Portuguese and are not relevant (or maybe even canon) to the current rebooting of the world that I have been working on here.

  • A tooltip was added instead of a link in every instance where "Arcanopia", "Esperbrook" and "Citadels" are mentioned (articles starting with M through R) ;

  • A tooltip was added in every instance where "The Calamity" and the elements of Order and Chaos are mentioned (articles starting with M through R) ;

  • Fixed a number of article links that were not showing the excerpt as tooltips on mouse-over (articles starting with M through R) ;

  • Excerpts also added as the subheading in every article (articles starting with M through R) ;

  • Fixed countless typos and small improvements made to writing made in nearly all articles (articles starting M through R).

23/07/18
Due to weekend slacking, I'm one-article-late again, though I'm still satisfied with the productivity and confident on catching up again until next update.   • NEW ARTICLE: Tales of Ol' Deepsea, the greatest pirate of the rovers;

  Update #28

Update #28

20/06/18
Well, this sort of got out of control. I was going to review every article to fix a few things in all of them, and I ended up with more in my hand than I expected. I decided to release the notes on the first few articles instead of finishing them all, since that will take quite a while. So just to make it clear, these notes refer only to the articles starting with the letters A through C, plus the King/Queen article. (total of 15 articles)

  • A tooltip was added instead of a link in every instance where "Arcanopia" is mentioned;

  • A tooltip was added instead of a link in every instance where "Esperbrook" is mentioned;

  • A tooltip was added in every instance where "The Calamity" is mentioned;

  • Added a "Historical Figures" section to the article on City Dwarves;

  • Fixed countless typos and small improvements made to writing made in nearly all articles.

  Update #27

Update #27

13/06/18
This time, using the new Myths and Legends template, the tale of Street Fox opens a new door (though many other should probably be closed first...) to other articles, and is one of the few about something currently happening in the setting. Together with an upgrade to the article on Magic, these are the only updates this time around, as there have been a ton of other upgrades to my personal discord server, which shares the same update notes as Aequus.

  • NEW ARTICLE: Street Fox, Thief of Legend, an urban myth that is changing the course of Archana

  • New sidebar content added to the article The Workings of Aether & Magic

  • New articles will not include timelines for now due to the timeline update, which forces timelines to appear in the homepage, in order to avoid clutter there.

  Update #26

Update #26

02/06/18
A simple challenge, the Frightful Fauna, not only inspired me to write the next article, but also got me an ideia about how to solve a question I've had for a while about the threat of the Blight Woods. Together with the Whispering One, a new article on the Blight itself and a little more information in the Blight Woods article.
