Siltlands

The Siltlands is a vast expanse of golden silty soil, dividing the Looming Desert and Phalan Forest. Landscapes are poor of water and lifeforms, and rife with predatory sandstorms.

The Siltlands is a typically uninhabited zone, as both norrabians and adamnans struggle to cope in these climates. The storms that form in the Siltlands are known to follow travellers; people have dug large tunnels underneath this region, to avoid the danger.

Norrab is best known for its swirling sandy seas, treacherous mountain ranges, trenches that cut all through the oceans, and an assortment of other dramatic, dangerous landscapes. Despite this, people have learned to thrive here and find beauty in what life manages to win the fight against the unforgiving environment.

Notable Landmarks

Magus Piq
The tallest point in the generally flat Siltlands. It is an abandoned termite mound, over sixty metres tall and fifty metres in diameter.
Titan's Corner
Six titan trunks growing in a crescent shape. A small pool of shimmering silver water has formed in the middle, and many believe it to have magical properties.
Phalan's Claw
A strip of dead coral reaching out of the Phalan Forest. It died long ago; the pores in its body have turned into the perfect nesting site for siltswifts.

Ecology

Titan Trunk by Mochi

Most lifeforms in the Siltlands remain dormant for most of the year. Many species migrate into the region during the winter, the only time of the year without sanstorms.

Large species like titan trunks are immobile; these massive polyp structures provide small animals protection from the weather. Countless large bird species rest on these structures, gliding above sandstorms for most of their lives.

Planktonic storms are frequent around the Siltlands, providing food for these gigantic organisms.

The few flora that grow in the Siltlands are short grasses and bushes. They are typically a deep purple and grow in shaded areas, such as under a titan trunk's cap.
