I've stood on this ledge for five days. My feet are raw. I don't remember what fresh water tastes like. The seagulls just laugh at me. But I know it's out there. I know it's watching me. I know its waiting. Come get me.
— Latest diary entry

Over a hundred mysterious gilded bottles have beached themselves on Hothiri's few permanent islands, stuffed with written by a factory worker who escaped the industrial hellscape more than fifteen years ago. What were originally small diary entries detailing his adventures exploring beyond the safe reefs of Hothiri quickly turned into something far more concerning.

Findan's current location and physical state is currently unknown. His last diary entry was found two months ago, nothing since.

Findan Saodoa

Don't look for me. You will not find me. I have enough resources to keep me alive on this godforsaken planet til the day I die.   If anyone reads this, Kannvas Oil is a scam. Rotten to the core. I watched as my friend was boiled to death in a distillation chamber. You know what the company did? Nothing. Absolutely nothing.   I can't support our people anymore. I don't even know why we need this much oil. I hear whispers about the people on our home planet building some kind of weapon of mass destruction... but it's not worth it.
— First diary entry

Findan was one of a thousand employees working tirelessly to feed the endless greedy hands of Kannvas Oil, a major oil manufacturer with several oil harvesting and refining factories located around the shallows of Hothiri.

After watching his close friend suffer a fatal accident at work, Findan made a daring escape and broke out of the heavily armed facility he was forced to call home. After hijacking a small cargo ship with enough supplies to last a lifetime, Findan set sail in the dark of the night.

Kannvas Oil initially led a search party to try and capture Findan, but after six months of pointless venture, they gave up and declared Findan dead. That was until a small green bottle, laced with gold imprints, washed up on Iroquet.

This bottle contained a small note, handwritten by Findan himself. It openly criticised the company he once worked for, claiming the company fumbled after the death of his close friend. In the next two weeks three more diary entries washed up on the shores of different islands, summarising his night-time adventures around various Night Islands.

Eventually these diary entries grew more mysterious and concerning. His focus shifted from exploring the oceans to becoming fixated on one particular creature he kept describing in the exact same manner. This creature was described with seven glowing red eyes, peering up from the deep. It had bright orange tentacles and would frequently reach out to grasp Findan's ship. While this creature has never been recorded, these diary entries seem adament this being exists.

Document Preservation

Each and every diary entry has been preserved in a large folder, deep in the Kannvas Oil Headquarters on Iroquet. Information detailed in these entries have been passed on to scientists, as many contain precious data that could help study gargantuan, eldritch beings lurking in the deepest points of the planet's ocean.

These beings have kept the oanie from having complete dominion over the planet, preventing them from stripping the entire ocean of its resources. Some of these diary entries have been leaked, causing mass hysteria and panic within the general workforce of Kannvas Oil and its subsidiary organisations.
