Daglaci
Geography, Location & Climate
As far as daglacians are concerned, Daglaci is split into two: the Frozen and the Abyss. Both are cold and life can barely cope in them.
Frozen
The entire planet is encased in a shell of ice, ranging in thickness from miles to metres. The thinner parts of the Frozen are susceptible to melting, cracking, and falling into the watery Abyss, but the thicker parts are supportive of life. The North and South Poles are the densest parts of the Frozen, reaching seventeen miles from the icebed to the surface.
Abyss
Coated in the Frozen is the Abyss, an almost pitch-black environment. The Abyss is entirely made of water, with little plant-matter floating inside, forming large spherical objects that serve as the ocean-beds. The Abyss has never been entered in the entire history of daglacian existence, as what lies beneath is much too horrifying for them to venture in.
History
As have every single planet in the Cheem System, Daglaci appeared literally out of nowhere. The planet spawned in the Yonderverse approximately nine hundred years ago, seventeen years after Rubrinea. The planet came equipped with its near-current set of people, cultures, species, and everything else that comes alongside a planet, only having evolved in the last seven hundred years.
When this planet appeared in the Yonderverse, it had already developed space-travel. Daglacians were quick to venture into space with their luxurious spacecrafts, exploring the nearby planets and such. Their first landing on Ynaris was short, as the only spacecraft to land flew off after just twenty minutes, as this planet was apparently "not the vibe". A few daglacians exist on Rubrinea, however, enjoying the cold climates of the North Pole and the vibrant red atmospheres.
Ecology
Life on Daglaci is a struggle, as everybody knows. That being said, the animals that call this ice-ball home are incredibly well adapted to the environments. Many animals are exponential in size, classified as megafauna.
Daglacians are not well versed in the life of Daglaci. In fact, they have identified only around two thousand species, the lowest number for any planet in the Cheem System. When their lives are constantly under threat from said species, there is little time to study and research them.
Exoplanetary scientists drool at the sight of Daglaci. Its unorthodox design as a planet has created some extraordinary species, such as arrow worms; mile long annelids that dig through ice using a spear-shaped head crest.
Tourism
This planet is incredibly unpopular for tourists. There's something about city-munching monsters that just doesn't appeal to many people. Those that do visit Daglaci explore the bigger cities, with the science and technology to protect themselves from these animals. One city is Hyphaxia, considered the capital of the planet for a number of reasons. This city is surrounded by a spherical plasma dome, which lets daglacians in, but keeps most other animals out.
