Jisefea
Home to just over four billion acres of farmland, wild fields and forests, Jisefea is the easternmost continent on Cilvarth. Jisefea is the more populated of the two, home to most of the largest towns and cities.
Geography, Location & Climate
Jisefea is the easternmost continent. Millions of acres of rolling hills have been transformed into dense farmland, harvesting various plants used in herbal teas. Sprawling cities populate the coastlines, while more rural towns and villages sprinkle farther inland.
Oh, no. Telis! Get the petal pole! Another one has fallen on the house. Can't see out my window.
The giant flower fields around Jisefea are a true spectacle. An abundance of biomagis in the fertile soil allows plants to grow much larger, much faster. Different flowers possess various magical capabilities - some produce a magical glow that fills the air at night, others releasing a calming aura.
The flowers help other plants grow. Most crop fields are situated on or around giant flower fields, houses built against the stems of the plants for structural stability.
Just south of the Horn of Jisefea is the Sea of Jisefea. The sea is blocked off by Velvet Islands, a long island chain that wraps around the sea on its south and west sides.
The sea has an average depth of four hundred metres, its bed covered in tropical reefs and kelp forest. A mass of small caverns and tunnels run under the seabed, occasionally crumbling and collapsing.
History
Millions of years ago Jisefea was its own island continent, its tectonic plate slowly collided with the Aurea Plate, forming the Middle Mountains, approximately seventeen million years ago.
Discovery of Tea Plants
Tea plants were first discovered and cultivated in southwestern Jisefea twenty thousand years ago, according to expert archaeologists. This discovery revolutionised agriculture, cuisine, and culture across the globe.Cilvarthians first appeared five million years ago, around the flower fields of Jisefea. They were quick to explore more of the continent, spreading far and wide until they discovered the Middle Mountains. At some point around fifteen thousand years ago some people crossed the mountain range, finding themselves in Aurea.
Some found home in the mountains themselves, with one city and several rural towns occupying forested canyons between snow-tipped peaks. Those that made it to Aurea quickly established colonies and flourished over the next thousand years.
Those that remained in Jisefea continued to flourish, agriculture becoming the norm. Tea plants quickly became the most common crop to grow, occupying almost half of all crop fields.
Ecology
I don't think I've ever come across such a harmonious planet! Aside from the odd pest here or there, it seems all the animals and the people get along... it's just gorgeous.
Domesticated farm animals are the most common sight in Jisefea. Moomoos, vibrant fowl, and various honeybee species are kept on crop fields to pollinate plants.
Domesticated species were chosen for their floramagical abilities, enhancing crop growth just by their mere presence.
Wild animals sometimes find their way from the wildfields to crop fields. Hog-nosed ferrets are considered a pest in many regions of Jisefea, as they scare off smaller domestic animals and cause plants to wilt through physical contact. Bulldozer bees and whale bees are a common sight in the Northern Hemisphere, pollinating the abundant megaflora.
Radiant hydrangeas are the tallest plant on Cilvarth, standing over a hundred and fifty metres tall. They dominate Jisefea and are used as navigational beacons. Some larger hydrangeas even serve as structural support for large tents and small mud buildings.
Like the hanging petal details. World record for tallest hydrangea...?
I bet the tallest flower is probably around two hundred metres tall!
