Dragon Forest
The Dragon Forest is the most iconic forest region on planet Osao, famous even beyond its solar system. This forest divides Unuth into two distinct regions, the humid side and the dry side. The Dragon Forest accompanies several deserts on the dry side, as a subtropical forest that receives rain twice a year at most.
The Dragon Forest is best known for its serpentine-like trees. These trees can grow up to two hundred metres in height (typically only around fifty metres), with a snake-like trunk and skull-shaped leaves.
Geography, Location & Climate
The Dragon Forest is an extremely mountainous region, with hilly terrain dividing it and the various deserts to the west. These mountains are covered in dense subtropical forests with nutrient rich soil. Since it only rains twice a year in the Western Dragon Forest, lifeforms rely on the thousands of rivers and lakes flowing down the mountains and gathering on large plateaus.
The eastern half of the Dragon Forest is much wetter, seeing light rainfall around half of the year. Here the soil is much drier, as nutrients have been washed away. Where this forest meets the Dark Umbrella Forest, flora, fauna, geography, and climate have all mixed, forming the Petulant Path; this region is constantly dark and stormy, where weather patterns get caught and can't leave.
Pink hailstorms are infrequent in the Dragon Forest. The cobalt-fluoride infused atmosphere is a pinkish colour, and when combined with water and cold temperatures creates perfectly spherical, pink hail.

State Bird of the Dragon Forest
Starlight serpents are the iconic trees that call the Dragon Forest home. They can grow anywhere from twenty to two hundred metres tall, and grow within just a few feet of one another. The densest parts of the forest could not let an adult human walk through.
Small birds are common in the Dragon Forest, jumping from tree to tree and creeping up the scaly trunks. The most vocal birds can be heard from miles away.
Small fish battle the flow of rivers up the mountains, often using basic forms of hydromancy to navigate such difficult terrain. Floral wisps, a rare inanimal, lurk around the Dragon Forest, observing the cycle of nature and correcting its mistakes.
Oooh I'd love a walk through here! Are there any myths or legends associated with it?
