Inanimalia
Inanimalia is a kingdom of organisms that is generally quite hard to define. They share few common characteristics, but the one thing that bring them together is their magical origins. This can encompass apparitions, spirits, haunted inanimate and biological objects, anything that could be classed as supernatural.
There is a common belief that any inanimals are inherently evil. This is not the case, and roughly 60% of inanimals physically cannot cause any harm to a mortal being, and wouldn't want to if they could. There are few species who have a reputation for being particularly aggressive, and unfortunately they have the strength for widescale destruction.
All inanimals have an innate connection to a certain field of magic, some multiple. Organisms in this kingdom are classified based on their magical connection, rather than genetic relations and evolution.

This cladogram is being actively worked on, and is subject to changes and additions.Phylums
As a kingdom, Inanimalia contains three subsidiary phylums: Urbana, Mysteiana, and Iliementana. These correlate to the three major magical fields: Urban Magic, Mystical Magic, and Elemental Magic.
Urbana contains all species with connections to any form of Urban Magic, including but not limited to: Zoomancy, Sanguimancy, Archomancy, and Ferromancy. Mysteiana contains all species with connections to any form of Mystical Magic, including but not limited to: Phantomancy, Horrormancy, Ectomancy, Mortomancy, and Vitamancy. Iliementana contains all species with connections to any form of Elemental Magic, including but not limited to: Terramancy, Phosphomancy, Floramancy, Pyromancy, Lunamancy, and Stellamancy.
Classes
Each class within the kingdom related to a certain magic field. Classes can be identified by name as they all contain the suffix -morphis. These classes follow a near-identical lineage to magic fields and classes.
In Sophontic Culture
Cultures from around the Yonderverse interact with inanimals in many different ways. As previously stated, many are feared for a number of reasons, and most of the time undeservingly persecuted.
Practical Uses
Many cultures around the Yonderverse utilise inanimals in some ways. Many are farmed for liquid forms of magic, or magical materials such as magis. Sophontic inanimals also farm other inanimals, or hunt them for food. Inanimals can also be used as familiars, organisms bonded to a user that amplifies their power in a specific magic field. Canine and feline-like inanimals are a common choice for familiars, as they are powerful and often commandable.
Most inanimals inhabit host dimensions. These dimensions are tied to a magic field and users draw power from them. Only a few of these dimensions have civilisations, so interactions with inanimals are few and far between, unless you live on the right planet.
Symbolism
Inanimals appear in almost every single mythology and religion that has ever existed in the Yonderverse. Many are perceived as purely mythical, figments of one's imaginations, used as horror stories, folklore and bedtime stories. Tales of tiny winged folk, tremendous titans, and slithering monsters, are not only real, but common in some galaxies and planets.
Many famous art pieces feature inanimals. A commonly depicted species are world turtles. often mistakenly described as fictional, these creatures carry portals to fantastical realms atop their backs. Demons are often seen in mythology, described as a number of different things. Demons form an entire class of inanimals, presenting in many different forms such as serpentine beings.
