Opiriol Gardens

The Opiriol Gardens is the home of Uri'ti, a Ukari from Talerin. The gardens and house were built on top of the tallest hill on Paranthas, an island in Ocearia.

Uri'ti's arrival on Ocearia

For many Ukari People, leaving the city of Tak'are is not an option. Walls higher than the tallest houses surround the city, with heavily armed guards patrolling every inch of it, mean nobody can leave without permission. Somehow, Uri'ti managed it. She was able to hijack a tourist's spacecraft from another planet, miraculously understand how it operated, and immediately leave the planet. The poor conditions and lifestyle drove her to take this drastic action, and she was determined to leave.
She made it out of the planet and into the depths of space, but unfortunately as she attempted to enter the atmosphere of another planet in their solar system, she lost control of the spacecraft and plummeted into an island. Luckily, she survived, but not without a few injuries. Her second left leg was broken, and she made the sacrifice and snapped it off entirely. It took a few minutes for Uri'ti to collect herself after crashing, and then she realised she was stranded on an island, in the middle of an ocean planet, with nobody to help her and no way of communicating to anybody.

Construction

The gardens were constructed soon after Uri'ti's house was constructed. The gardens served as a way of coping with her anxiety, after crashing onto an unknown planet and remaining completely isolated. After the first white brick was laid on the flat hilltop, the gardens took about 3 weeks to be completely built. The gardens were constructed out of the same materials as the house. White rock from Paranthas' many cliffs were harvested by Uri'ti, and carved into brick shapes, and stacked in patterns to create circular patches that were filled with dirt and grass, plants grown on top.

Plants

While most of the plants in the gardens are harvestable, some are purely for aesthetics. Uri'ti chose many plants with a reddish colour scheme, as the colour reminds her of her mother, who was a deep scarlet colour. Uri'ti mostly grows quaeses, small red vegetables that produce a sweet smell yet taste mildly spicy, as they are her favourite food that she's found on Paranthas. With a limited variety in plants, ostronnas grow in almost every patch, as they require different minerals to the other plants.

Uri'ti's Death

Uri'ti's death to a wolfdog in the ocean around Paranthas meant the gardens would no longer be tended to. The gardens are now completely overgrown, as is her house; sneakvines have taken over the gardens, and are now one of the only plants growing there.

Shiphogs

Two years after Uri'ti passed away, a raft of shiphogs arrived on the island to loot her home, as it is visible from miles away. The shiphogs raided the house, stealing many belongings; a watch from Tak'are, a short spear made of the same white rock as her house, and several ornaments that travelled with her in her spacecraft.
