Summer Camp 2026: Judging & Criteria

Hello everyone! This year I am sponsoring a prompt for Summer Camp, and I'm putting together a rough guideline, for myself and for those potentially aiming to win. I am sponsoring the prompt "a fruit that grows in an unlikely environment", and this is a really interesting topic, so I'm very excited to read all of the entries!

Criteria

Most of these will be rough criteria, and I'll judge each article individually based on a number of factors. Beyond one hard no, I am not very harsh and I do enjoy most things people write.

Any genAI will be an immediate disqualification. This goes for any text I believe to be AI generated (even if edited afterwards), AI generated images in the article, AI generated headers or backgrounds for the world as a whole. I have a strong stance on genAI, and that will not change.

I am looking for an inventive concept. This does not mean you need to come up with an entirely new fruit species, you can use a real world fruit, but I'm looking for inventive usecases, interesting properties, perhaps some new and exciting foods are made with this fruit.

Custom CSS will not affect my judging. As pretty as your world might be, the focus is on the concept of the article!

That being said, any custom styling that negatively impacts my ability to read the article will decrease its likelihood of winning.

Do not worry about spelling or grammatial errors. As the concept of the article is the focus, small errors in writing is not a big deal.

TLDR

Throw genAI out, go all in on inventive ideas. Don't worry about perfection!
