Four is the fourth largest moon orbiting
Echos, a planet in the
Sao Solar System. On the moon grows a single tree; this tree however has multiplied itself and grown across the moon, interconnecting roots functioning as a single organism.
Geography
Four is made entirely of mangrove and wetland environments. Small puddles, lakes, rivers, etch their way along the ground, while the single mangrove tree sprouts its children, with a thick forest of the plant growing and covering the land. The land is incredibly flat, there are almost no hills or mountains, only flat wetlands.
Fauna & Flora
Unlike Earth's mudskippers, these animals are massive, dangerous, and swim. Fast. Mudskippers are the apex predators of Four. They are able to jump straight out of the water and into other water systems, their flat body letting them glide slowly down. They blend perfectly with their environments, which help them catch their prey.
Llovemoth
Llovemoths are a peculiar moth species. Their wings end in an oval shape, forming a traditional heart with their pink scales. Their bright aposematic colours deter any predators that bother them as they lay their bright green eggs along the visible roots of the Queen's Mangrove.
Queen's Mangrove
The Queen's Mangrove is the name of the mangrove tree found on this moon. It is a clonal colony of the species, its roots extending all throughout the moon. Through asexual reproduction, it has grown to this immense size over thousands of years. The spindly roots of the tree grow above ground, forming from a large trunk that floats above the water. The branches are long, with many smaller branches connected growing large, rectangular shaped leaves.
History
Four's existence was first documented 3.9 billion years ago, roughly 1.5 billion years after it came into existence. These documents were created by the
Kavaari and are now found stored in the PA Headquarters. Four has seen a lot of researchers on its planet, mostly studying the Queen's Mangrove and how it works. Several drilling sites have been built to dig deep down into the moon's core, just to see the extent of the roots, how far they go and how connected they are to each other.
