Humanoid Hand Projector

Humanoid Hand Projectors are a small, wearable technology that unites all sophonts in space. This wristband assists those by projecting a small hand with five digits.

Uses

These technologies were designed with simplicity in mind. These wristbands all project the exact same hand shape, with four fingers and one thumb. This hand is identical to those of humans, and is based off of the humanoid blueprint.

Door handles, keys and cards, eating utensils and cutlery, tools and weapons, among many other items, are difficult to be held by many people. The Humanoid Hand Projector negates this difficulty as all registered items are designed to be handled by this projected hand.

Projection

The wristband produces this hand using nanotechnology. The wristband is lined with millions of tiny particles that clump together to form this hand at will. The wristband connects with the nerves lined in the skin, allowing it to reach the brain, and so whenever the user wants to manifest this hand, it appears. It is entirely controllable and acts as if it is a real hand.

Each particle is registered to a specific wristband. If a particle is lost, say if somebody walked into the hand and it smashed to pieces, the particles would do everything in their programmed power to get back to the wristband. The wristband has a detectable radius of a thousand kilometres, and if the particles somehow get farther away than that, they will not attempt to reach the wristband and will relocate to the nearest registered shop that sells them and the wristbands.

Experiments On Animals

The Humanoid Hand Projector has been tested on countless animal species as an experiment on their intelligence. In the space colony Ffaea, located just beyond the Kuiper Belt in the Sol System, these projectors were put on several avian species from Earth. Three test subjects were used: a domestic chicken, a harris hawk, and a greater flamingo.

The tests determined that two of the three animals, when given the ability, would use humanoid-grade tools and weapons to hunt for food and for general usage. The chicken and the harris hawk showed incredible intelligence, whilst the flamingo carried on with its typical lifestyle and made no attempts to use any of the tools given to them, which included a sword, a net and a bat.

I am both terrified and amused by the thought of a chicken being able to wield tools. O_O

I love the idea of testing animals’ intelligence by providing them with unique tools! I wonder what mischief corvids would get up to. Might be too dangerous an experiment. :eyes:

Thank you! Oh gosh, I don't even want to imagine what corvids would do xD
