Deone Aci

Deone Aci is the current leader of the Milky Way Institute of Biology, Taxonomy, and Conservation, a complex society of biologists, taxonomists, conservationists, historians, and countless other professions.

They specialise in conservation of marine wildlife, having worked on seventeen planets and aided in the conservation of nearly two hundred endangered species.

Significant Work

Deone Aci has made significant strides in conservation efforts on Mars in their earlier years. Working closely with the A to Zoo and Marble Mud Ranch, they helped bring back a number of important animals from extinction.

Deone worked closely with Chrysantha, and with it their professional relationship grew into a more personal one.

They became close friends, having bonded over their shared interests. The two grew so close they became married; for convenience over anything else, their relationship was strictly platonic.

Chrysantha helped support Deone's further work, which eventually led to them joining the Miky Way Institute of Biology, Taxonomy, and Conservation. Their first role in this organisation was as a conservation officer, and after quicky proving their worth, Deone was able to climb the ranks. Within just five years, Deone was sat near the top of this organisation, her breadth of knowledge and skills greatly improving the conservation sector.

Ribas Nuca, previous leader of the organisation, stepped down seventeen years ago. To follow in her footsteps was between three people, Deone being one of them. After tax fraud accusations came to light about the other two, Deone was automatically promoted.

With their promotion came two largescale changes to the Institution. The first change was introducing a new category with the IUCN Classification system. Species brought back from extinction would now be labelled as Revived.

Only certain Revived animals may be re-introduced into the wild, so long as they were recently made extinct and their disappearance in an ecosystem can still be felt. Re-introducing them can re-balance said ecosystem.

Deone's second impactful change involved their connections to conservation facilities across the galaxy. Instead of just the A to Zoo, the Institution would now work with ten major zoological collections, including the Space Cetaceans Trust and the Goldenbill Association. This tredecupled the Institution's funding, enabling them to expand their conservation efforts.

There are, however, several reports of embezzlement that have surfaced in recent months, all tied directly to Deone. They have not responded to any accusations thus far.
