Atheau Island
Atheau Island is a large island just south of mainland Atheau. It is the location of the country's capital, Tahonda, and the island is connected to the mainland via a large bridge. The island has a population of 150 thousand, made up mostly of the capital city. The island is mostly covered in boreal forests, with a mixture of tree species creating a beautiful sea of reds, oranges, yellows, greens, blues and purples.
Geography
The island has an average height of 231m above sea level, the highest being 233 and the lowest being 228, so the island is very flat. The entire island is a boreal forest, with few openings in the sky, and there are many lakes which have small settlements built around them. The forests are made of many species of trees, that come in a variety of colours. The most common tree is the Fern Tree, a tree with impressively bright leaves.
Ecosystem
The boreal forests of Atheau Island are full of burrowing, hibernating mammals. There are few but abundant herbivorous mammals, but a shockingly diverse amount of carnivores. The island has the most amount of Giant Stink Beetle subspecies and variants, and the people of this island used their gases to sell and make a decent profit.
Tourism
The capital city, Tahonda, is a popular city for visitors. Its medieval build style has carried on into the modern world, and its combination of steampunk technology and magic creates for a beautiful immersive city, that attracts tourists that are fascinated by its history. The people on this island have created many fascinating pieces of technology, including search parties which were later used in the deserts of Sarra to dig out ancient artifacts, and then the search party becoming an artifact itself.
