Atheau

Atheau, formerly known as Athera, is a large country in the south of Aekor. It is bordered by Mirikith to the north. The majority of its population lives on Atheau Island, where the capital, Tahonda, is. Atheau has a population of 240,000, and Atheau Island has a population of 150,000.
The country is made up of 4 major biomes, swamplands, boreal forests, temperate forests and rainforests. To the east of the country is Sanra Forest, the rainforest, between that and Sarabar Swamp is a small temperate forest which extends into Mirikith, as does the swamp and rainforest. In the southwest is a boreal forest, which also inhabits Atheau Island.

Structure

When the country was first founded, it was split into 6 different sections, all ruled separately with different laws. The first section was Atheau Island, and was previously named Skwanrenddi, but was changed to make it easier to pronounce. The second section is Sarabar Swamp, which never had any population of harmonids due to the life threatening creatures and their diseases, and the Aar-Aori who despises harmonids, and chase out any harmonid who even comes close to the swamp. The third section was Parina, which was the small stretch of boreal forests south of the swamps, north of Atheau Island. The fourth section was the small strip of temperate forests between Sarabar Swamp and Sanra Forest. The fifth and sixth section divided Sanra Forest.

History

Harmonids started appearing in Atheau about 1.7-1.8 million years ago, as they started expanding their regions once boats were invented. The first towns were formed on Atheau Island and the neighbouring land on the mainland. The towns expanded, and a boat path was made, taking them to the mainland on the other side of Sarabar swamp, after they discovered its inhabitants were too dangerous.   After creating settlements across the country, six sectors were created, five of which were then inhabited, leaving sarabar swamp as the only one who wasn't inhabited by harmonids. When countries were established, they based them on locations of the rivers, the Incubis river divided Mirikith from Atheau.
