Hyperion Federation Organization in THF Universe | World Anvil

Hyperion Federation

The Hyperion Federation is a multi-galactic federation of multiple species, possessing extremely advanced technology. Even compared to other multi-galactic factions, their technology is still very far ahead. However, the Fracture, a wormhole to a mirror universe, opened. Their very existence is coming into question as they fight their own mirror universe self - the Hyperion Empire.   The Star Nations of the HF include:
United Nations of Tebburus
Saelian Coalition
Yunkad Coalition
Leosus Federation
Micars Empire
Drimax United Systems
Union of Sentient Robots
United People of Zatrides
Trevan Alliance
Rih’kiel Remnant
Troznux Clans       A planet called 'Earth' you say? It's the human homeworld? Silly billy, the human homeworld is the Leosus Ring World! Are you feeling funny?

Culture

The Federation is very multicultural as a result of being made up of so many different alien races.  Some cultures are mostly consistent across the Federation, though. Specifically:
  • People of the Federation, especially military personnel, want to make their deaths count, should that happen. If someone dies, they will typically try to make it have as large a positive impact as possible. This is significantly more noticeable in the military, as it gives soldiers an iron will to continue the fight for as long as they can physically do so.
  • They also have a stronger will for self preservation, i.e. they try to avoid dying to a higher extent. In the military, this leads their forces to be more cautious, suffering less casualties. But it also makes it more likely for them to surrender.
  • History

The HF began following the end of the Suon - Saelian war. It would be the former of these 2 species that was victorious, and signed treaties so that both sides would defend each other from external threats. This treaty would go on to expand to several other species nearby as well, as it was highly beneficial to both races. Eventually, the network of treaties got complex enough so they ended up founding a federation. The Hyperion Federation.   The HF went on to expand as even more races started joining it. They eventually constucted a Dyson Sphere and became a type II civilization. They would then expand further, and eventually every race in the Odyros galaxy would be unified under the HF. This turned them into a type III civilzation, and then they would invent the IGWD to leave their home galaxy behind for the first time.

    Demography and Population

People of the Federation can migrate between star nations. It is not uncommon to find cities or even worlds where no one species clearly dominates. In these areas, every race of the Federation can be found. These areas are even more common on Paragon.

the HF is led primarily by the leaders of the many constituent star nations. This is known as the Upper Federation Senate (UFS). After a bill is posted to the UFS, the various star nations, each of which represent a species, vote on the matter, usually unanonomously. The number of votes to pass depends on what is being suggested, but in the most critical of situations a bill requires a unanimous vote. For exapmle, to share technology with another faction requires this to pass with a unanimous vote. The absolute minimum pass deadmark is 70%. The sheer number of star nations can make a unanimous bill nearly impossible to pass. There are thousands of species and star nations across each galaxy, and the HF controls several galaxies. Through their entire history, a technology share bill has never passed before.   Bills are passed to the UFS via the internal governments of each nation. However, disagreements are common between star nations. This is largely caused by how all the star nations are run; some are run by dictatoral empires, others by democracy. There are also cultural differences. One action could offend one culture but be completely normal in another. This results in a significant obstacle to get around before a bill can even be suggested, as the suggesting nation must do its research into how the cultures of other nations would react.   Another obstacle is that different species might have different psychology. As such, what works for one species does not nessessarily work for another. For example, a Suon society based on money would not work at all.

    Major Exports
Refer to the imports section; all matter has approximately equal value to the Federation. If they need to export, they will use Replicators to build whatever products have a high value in the other society which typically involves complex consumer goods, on a large scale. They will never provide other factions with weapons or anything that can give them information about the Hyperionites' technology.
    Major Imports
The Federation imports very little. Due to them being a post scarcity society, they only need matter and energy regardless of the form they come in. If they want to import anything, they are likely to ask for 'raw matter' such as asteroids or waste matter and fire a Planck-Dismantlement Beam at it.
