Dhim'or
A race of sentient, symbiotic slug like creatures, inhabiting a section of the hosts body near their stomach, connecting themselves to their nervous system. They optimize the hosts brain, making it perform a bit better. The brain slugs are partially hive minded with other Dhim'ors, retaining free will but having the ability to pass information easily. Although the signal becomes extremely weak and invisible at extreme distances. Another notable thing about them is the fact they can communicate to the host, and the host can communicate to them.
Homeworld is in the Cymaseus System.
Star nation is the Troznux Clans.
Basic Information
Genetics and Reproduction
After reaching their fully grown length, they occasionally lay eggs in the hosts stomach. These are excreted from the body. They hatch, growing into a new Dhim'or, which can enter someone elses body through the mouth and bore a hole through their stomach, repairing the hole.
Growth Rate & Stages
Eggs hatch a few days after being laid. Their young forms have legs and have to find a body to infest soon or they die. At this stage, they are about 3 mm long.
After inhabiting the outside of the stomach they will connect themselves to the nervous system and a blood vessel which they will feed off for the rest of their life. They slowly grow to about 20 cm length. Their brain grows significantly more than other parts during this stage and become sapient.

Culture and Cultural Heritage
Depends largely on the culture of the hosts species. However, Dhim'ors do have influence on cultures of most species they inhabit. Specifically, they may attempt to make said culture accepting of them or even try make it actively attempt to spread a Dhim'or population.
For example, they have been given star attunements with Suon hosts. In a Phelke, the 2 souls occasionally take turns between each others bodies. While a Dhim'or will survive a body swap interaction with an external entity, this can often lead to distress as they may risk losing their friend. However, the opposite can also be said where the Phelke soul misses his Dhim'or and desires being returned to their original body.
Common Taboos
Telling other Dhim'ors about confidential information about their hosts is seen as a very bad thing to do. In dhim'or culture, they need the hosts to chose to have a dhim'or. Sharing confidential information is one factor that might make hosts chose not to have one.
