Iota Gauras IV
A planet of the Iota Gauras System, which orbits the Zeta Halanet System dark star and is owned by the Hyperion Federation.
The primary feature of Iota Gauras IV is the very thick and toxic atmosphere which absorbs a lot of heat energy and prevents most radiation emitted from the planet from reaching space. This causes the planet to be quite hot despite its distance from the star.
The planet's magnetosphere causes it to deflect most antimatter from the dark star but sometimes annihilation reactions can happen in the upper atmosphere. This and the gamma radiation can also contribute slightly to the planets temperature as well as the radiation content of the surface (gamma rays have a high penetration power).
The planet does have a content of useful metallic ore that is significant enough to extract. The HF has built a megastructure using the self-replicating robots as materials and to build the megastructure from. This extracts a lot of valuable matters plasma for the HF.
Now the planet is much colder as it doesn't receive radiation from the sun anymore. This is due to the construction of the Matrioshka Brain in the system.
