Yunkad
Technically a collection of species rather than just 1, They are naturally biomechanical, manipulated by an AI named Eris that has been given control of the home planet Yunkadia and rarely actually intervenes in their development, just watching.
All species, intelligent or otherwise, on the planet are biomechanical. They are very advanced, being semi-immortal but without most of the disadvantages Suons get from this trait.
Since their creation at the hands of this AI, each intelligent species has been at war with the others, mostly for a food source. Some banded together for survival until they eventually unified. Some were driven to extinction.
Although Eris was initially suspicious when the yunkads first found out about the Hyperion Federation, it eventually decided that it would be a good idea to form an alliance with these aliens. The Yunkad joined the Federation a long time after first contact.

Yunkads require both biological and technological food, making biomechanical sources far more efficient. This is because they evolved on Yunkadia, a world with an entirely biomechanical ecosystem
