Yunkadia

Homeworld of the Yunkad Coalition.
Yunkadia is a continental world, with a lot of life. It has an average surface temperature and size (thus gravity) making it optimal for life. It has a nitrogen - oxygen atmosphere.
Eris' lab is located near the north pole of the planet.
The planet also has a large amount of metal ore deposits because the plant life is capable of creating it under a modified photosynthesis process. Iron, copper and other useful metals often ends up in coal deposits because of this. Many metallic resources end up in the dirt of the planet also, many plant lifeforms take resources from here.
However because the wildlife is very deadly, it is difficult to exploit this without incredibly advanced weapons. 
Some underwater creatures have sonic cannons, as such they can target entities on the ground even if not in the water themselves. To some cultures, this has made the area around the ocean an exclusion zone. Also, some like to cause large tsunamis and drown a lot of land based life nearby and then eat the corpses that were dragged into the ocean.
Some Yunkadian life are even equipped with flamethrowers, or fire resistant skin. Some have powerful thermal imaging systems built into their body.
Despite most alien life not being biomechanical, most Yunkadian lifeforms will try to eat them anyway. This is largely because they are unaware. Unlike the Yunkad species themselves, though, almost no Yunkadian life has sight calculators.
