Drimax
They are very smart in most topics that are highly specific, such as maths. If it is not a specific goal, such as comedy, they are likely to be terrible at it. Due to this they make for very valuable scientists and engineers.
However, Drimax are nocturnal. They can see light, even at night, but do not rely on it for their primary sensory method. They use primarily echolocation to a very accurate degree, being able to identify different materials by listening to the returning sound waves. The drimax has evolved nocturnal tendencies because the large heat of the surface at day can kill them despite them having evolved for these conditions. It is much colder at night as the heat dissipates rapidly with no source. The drimax have large eyes and can see effectively at night, if there is a moon in the sky. They usually lived in large caves during the day which protected them from the sun, before eventually advancing in technology and gaining the capability to build their own houses. Drimax houses are designed to reflect sunlight into the sky which should hopefully keep temperatures at a safe level. At night, they can become slightly insulative, keeping temperatures from dropping to very low levels.

Biology
The drath cannot use water in their biology because there is no water, or very little water, on Ovora TX6. They instead use a different chemical as solvent, which is obtained mostly through eating some specific types of sand. Sand and food is sent to the stomach after ingestion. The stomach breaks sand down slightly and then sends it to a filter which sepearates sand from food. Slightly broken sand is sent into an organ which further breaks sand down into a very fine dust through use of a specialised chemical. This material is then sent to the intestine along with food for seperation into useful and useless material. The drimax can afford to be quite inefficient with the solvent chemical because it is available in so many locations around the world. Food is less common so that is used more efficiently. It also takes energy to process sand into solvent. The drimax respiratory and cardiovascular systems are more or less interconnected. Their lung also acts as the heart, applying a pressure gradient on blood within itself and oxygenating it simultaneously. As a result, they visibly breathe quite quickly but have lungs smaller than that of humans. As they have no heart, a drimax cannot be injured in the heart thus reducing the amount of vital organs they have. This makes it harder to kill a drimax with a physical injury. They also have a large liver. Blood from the intestine is sent to the liver before any other location, to reduce the damage that accidentally absorbing toxic chemicals could do.Basic Information
Anatomy
Drimax are a roughly humanoid species. However, they have 6 fingers. This allows them slightly more freedom with manipulation, and their hands are larger to accommodate the 6th finger. Their feet are also attached to a socket that allows more freedom in rotation, so they can take up some positions that would break a human leg. They can rotate their foot in any direction within a 180 degree semisphere. They are also carbon based lifeforms.
Genetics and Reproduction
Although drimax reproduce asexually, they rely on laying eggs. The body can decide to build an egg whenever it wants, which will grow to usable size in about 2 months. After laying, it takes about 4 months for the child to develop and be born when they crack their egg. It then takes about 20 years for a newborn drimax to grow to full size and gain the ability to lay their own eggs.
Eggs are protected in a large dedicated egg holding place and are often protected by the community. There is typically at least 1 guardian that checks the eggs every so often for signs of hatching. When it is thought that an eg would hatch soon, they often hold a celebration and it usually hatches about 1 week later. The time of hatching is considered the person's birthday.
Ecology and Habitats
A drimax prefers warmer, drier environments than humans. This is because they evolved on a world with a comparatively drier atmosphere , and slightly closer to the star. To help them inhabit HF worlds more comfortably, they are often treated with cybernetics which often perform various chemical reactions within the body for them that they normally couldnt achieve themselves in such conditions..
Additional Information
Perception and Sensory Capabilities
They normally cannot communicate with most other sentient species who rely on sound for communication. Universal translators must be used to come across this gap. Normally, drimax communicate to each other using antennae, and firing various frequencies of electromagnetic radiation at each other. Universal translators are built to both send and receive these signals and allow them to communicate with other species.
