Nicoll-Dyson Beam Odyros

A Nicoll-Dyson Beam is an immense superweapon that requires so much power to operate that a Dyson sphere is built around it to power it. Most of the Dyson sphere energy is routed to an antimatter energy storage unit. When it needs to be used, the antimatter is annihilated and the resulting blast focused into a tight beam which is sent down a wormhole created by a device similar to an IGWD.
The Hyperion Federation have 2 Nicoll-Dyson beams. One of them is located in the Odyros galaxy.

Its a superweapon, capable of starting supernovas in stars or completely vaporizing planets from intergalactic distances
