Arak System
Home system of the Micars Empire. Contains the Drath homeworld, Micars, as well as Xaolia.
The Arak star is a class G star. Although the Drath were forced to survive on Xaolia, when they did eventually emerge to find no sign of the aliens that destroyed them, they found little of note other than wreckages. Of course, the Drath studied many of these wreckages to advance their technology, but reverse-engineering can be very difficult. Some wrecks were disassembled with nothing learned. Many wreckages were found all over the system, such as in various stellar orbits, and even in the dwarf planets orbiting the system at extremely large radii.
The Drath also tried finding out what happened to the aliens themselves, but they did not get far. Due to their xenophobic nature, the Drath wanted to ensure that no one could challenge them again. They built immense fortifications in almost every location in the system, especially around Micars (which they have now retaken and inhabited). Xaolia itself is still useful for gas giant collection, so many still inhabit the clouds of Xaolia. They placed so many defence platforms in high orbit around Micars that it became difficult to place more as so many orbits would overlap and run the risk of collision. The rest of the system however arguably has more.
Even 42 000 years later in more current times, the Arak system is still one of the most strongly defended systems that he Hyperion Federation has. Many dwarf planets were turned into fortress worlds making it almost impenetrable. They wait for an invasion that has yet to come.
