Saelian

Saelians are often viewed as the bioengineers of the Hyperion Federation. Their homeworld is Cela.
Although they have a comparitively weak build, saelians have a large head and brain and are as a consequence smart.
Saelians have also adapted to the cold due to their history. They adapted like any organism would as well as a bit of self genetic engineering to speed up the process.
After becomming capable of easy space travel they found ancient Rih’kiel prime wreckages of Flying Discs. Although they initially had no idea what a flying disc was, the saelians reverse engineered it and integrated the well engineered antigravity into their own technology, and flying discs became a part of their own arsenal.
These would see use against the Suons of the Tebburus Unification War and eventually become a key part of the Hyperion Federation arsenal.
Not all saelians have pure white skin. About 70% of them do, 8% have a more significant purple shaded skin and the rest have green skin. Most purple skinned saelians come from a single continent on Cela. Green and white skins come from about anywhere on the world.

Saelians appear as shorter, skinnier humanoids with a large head.

Genetics and Reproduction

Saelians are technically asexual but still need to form couples to reproduce. Both saelians both grow a fetus. After birth, they grow rapidly before reaching an adolescent age after 7 years and then slow down significantly and become mature at about 20.

The immune system is efficient.
Their digestive system has a slow metabolism allowing them to survive off less food but also giving their bodies less energy and thus making them lazier. This is also a result of their rapid adaptation to the suddenly cold environment of Cela.
Saelians are silicon based lifeforms and cannot eat carbon based food.
Saelian nervous systems can transport large amounts of energy and information very efficiently. They rely on atomic magnetic moment flips in spin ice-like materials, creating near - instantaneous chains of magnetic moment changes. Unlike electricity, this form of 'conductor' has no resistance and creates no magnetic field, which makes saelian nervous systems immune to the effects of induction and much more energy efficient.
