Secura-Guard

A massive corporation of Cela that secured the existance of the Saelian species - but also induced the corporatocracy type government in the Saelian Coalition.

Secura-Guard was a company dedicated to the construction of massive habitats allowing the saelians to adapt to the new conditions of their planet, after Cela was sent to a slightly higher orbit. Because every saelian on the planet became totally reliant on them, they earned immense profits and used them to obtain immense influence in saelian society. They installed many laws that would massively benefit themselves, much to the destruction of quality of life of everyone there. Secura-Guard also practiced actual slave labor for much of this time. They have enslaved approximately 80% of the saelian population.

Other large companies also relied on them following the Cela apocalypse, further compounding their profits so that no company was even close to the sheer size of Secura-Guard.

During this apocalypse, most of their technology was in use at any one time. They were constantly building new habitats and upgrading previous habitats. The Coalition underwent a technology recession but Secura-Guard spent a large amount of resources on the new flying disc technology that was discovered. They thought that they could be very useful for getting to space, and they were.

As society adapted to the new conditions, the corporation remained extremely powerful but saelian technology advanced once more. They redesigned most of the habitats to accommodate this, and in particular the new Graviton Wave Refraction technology allowed them to manipulate gravity to unprecedented levels. The appearance of these habitats changed massively, and now appear far more high tech. As saelian technology advanced past their peak once again, it has been made clear they survived the initial disaster and fully recovered in a new, completely different form. Secura-Guard, being such a large and powerful corporation, still practiced slave labor to a massive degree though, and they remained powerful enough that no one could hope to cripple them enough to stop slave labor. The statistics have fallen though - at this point, about 60% of the population were slaves.

After the corporation discovered Tebburus, the Suon homeworld, they initially saw the massive value that such a huge planet could hold. This planet had exceptional conditions, floating islands, new and exotic materials to study (such as magnetic monopoles and Aetherium). All of these resources would be very abundant as the planet is roughly the size of an ice giant, yet still with just over average gravity. The enslavery of the suon species rapidly moved up the priorities list of the corporation before they eventually launched a full scale assault on Tebburus. It soon became clear how significantly they underestimated the defending species though - and the invasion was repelled with massive losses. The company became terrified of them and attempted to destroy Tebburus with a planet cracker, which also failed. This invasion would allow the suons to justify their own offensive - the suon-saelian war, which would lead to the disbandment of the Secura-Guard corporation. The United Nations of Tebburus saw this large, powerful entity was exploiting their people - and tried to exploit the suons as well. From the Tebburus governments point of view, this corporation has served its purpose to save the saelian species long ago.

Now with many CEOs executed, the saelians now have their government instead, the Saelian Coalition, to live under. Suons were much happier with this new government, and have soon formed an alliance with the Coalition. Both sides helped the other to recover. The Saelian Coalition finally obtained access to Tebburan materials and resources.
