Taralas System
The Taralas System is a large block hole system that itself orbits the Zeta Halanet System dark matter star, which is owned by the Hyperion Federation.
The Taralas black hole is the only known black hole orbiting a dark matter star. As such, the HSA treats this system with a lot of care as to not ruin this great scientific oppurtunty. The several magnetic monopole veins around the system have been left mostly intact and unexploited - despite the immense potential value of those resources. Mining is kept to a minimum in this system. More magnetic monopoles have been found in this system than most other black hole and neutron star systems.
However, the effort has paid off in sheer data. They were able to find out that black holes might be a cause of dark matter stars, as the magnetic monopoles are involved in a number of key reactions important to forming dark matter stars. Using this information, the HF might be able to create their own dark matter stars in the very far future using megastructures, but that is very hypothetical and the mass-energy requirement would be immense.
There are a number of scientific research stations both orbiting and on almost every astronomical body in the system (the HF has not landed laboratories on the black hole). The system has a population of about 10 billion, most of which are scientists or other crew members who are hired to help the scientists (including indirect methods such as maintaining the laboratories)
