Taralas I
A large, rocky planet of the Taralas System, which orbits Zeta Halanet and is owned by the Hyperion Federation.
Taralas I has a large number of magnetic monopoles which have formed under the extreme conditions when the star underwent supernova. This gives the planet a very large value, but despite these extremely rare deposits of exotic matter, the Hyperion Federation instead elects to study this world. The planet orbits a black hole, which itself orbits the Zeta Halanet dark matter star. It has contributed much to the HSA's knowledge of dark matter stars and how they react to monopoles. The dark matter star constantly emits gamma rays and antimatter which often react with the material of this planet, causing some phenomena not normally seen elsewhere. The antimatter emitted is not intense enough to cause damage to the planet at the distance it is normally seen at. It has caused the surface to form out of a material of rock never seen before, and the planet to be hotter than one would expect from planets that orbit black holes despite still being freezing cold. Tarlas I has no magnetosphere or atmosphere.
The planet has a large number of laboratories orbiting it. The HSA has fully deep scanned the planet and were able to construct a semi-functional techprint with it. The amount of storage space this file takes is immense; one of the larger stations is dedicated to keeping the techprint of this planet stored using extremely information - dense computers. Using this techprint, they can perform any virtual universe experiment which generates a lot of useful information for them.
Like on other planets in the system, all mining operations, including those for magnetic monopoles, are banned because mining this planet could ruin the scientific opportunity it offers. Once they answer every question, it will likely be made available to mining again.
