First HF - GAE War

The GAE, being the very expansionist faction they are, attempted to invade their weakest neighbor, the HF. The HF only owned 6 galaxies at the time.
  They initially launched attacks on the Kenarus galaxy because it was closer and relatively far away from the rest of the HF cluster of galaxies. They were met with a surprisingly high resistance. The GAE invaded a faction that has been attacked man times through its history by superior forces.
  Through sheer morale and clever use of advanced technology, the HF managed to repel the first attacks of the GAE. This made it more difficult for the GAE to launch more attacks. Eventually they did, this one large and with a more powerful force. They learned to counter HF doctrine better from the previous battle and were more successful this time.
  This attack landed in one minor star nations territory, so the overwhelming force of the GAE took over that nation, not without immense cost in casualties. The GAE thinks the HF suffered heavy casualties during these battles. In reality, the HF scuttled their ships using the antimatter annihilation cores and retreated with their lives using teleporters.
  The main cost of constructing a new ship for the HF was not raw material, but people to crew the ships. This allowed the HF to make a powerful comeback after they rebuilt their fleet.
