'Kaon' Railgun

Railgun intended for snipers of the Hyperion Federation. These are double barreled and have a very high range and damage. While the rails require a short moment to charge up before firing, they still make for a great sniper weapon. The double barrel nature means the sniper can even shoot multiple targets in rapid sucesion.
The Kaon is extremely powerful. It is capable of penetrating armour of some armoured vehicles at some angles, but this only happens to low tech vehicles. As an infantry used weapon, it is difficult to make it accurate at long range. To help this, it can be mounted on a small motorized platform and aimed automatically. This platform often weighs a lot making it hard to carry
The Kaon is decently reliable for a HF weapon. It can withstand many bad conditions but there is a chance of water creating a short between the rails of the weapon, so most still clean it occasionally. Attempting to pass a current through the weapon in this state will cause it to explode as a several gigavolt supply passes an immense current through the dirt.
