Upsilon Pranatais II Data Hive
The Upsilon Pranatais II Data Hive is a large, non-euclidian data center on Upsilon Pranatais II.
There are very few Teleporter rooms here, and those cannot be used to travel to the data center. There are a number of significant puzzles the player must get across before they can gain access, many of which involve weaponised turrets or robots programmed to kill intruders. Death in a virtual universe is never fatal, and the HSA studies their reactions to the armed turrets and robots. The information stored in this virtual data center is often valuable, though, so some groups have partially infiltrated it. This area is one of the hardest locations to navigate, and as like the rest of the planet it is largely non-euclidian. This center in particular is designed to be confusing to ward off any would be attackers. The HSA allows anyone willing to go through this access to the center, but all species will remain as a target until they leave.
The 'hive' comes in 3 sectors: The outermost sector, middle and the core sector.
The outermost sector is the only part of the data center thats reachable directly from outside the structure. All ways to get into the middle sector enter via various places of the outermost sector. It is obvious when one stumbles upon the structure as it is the only place on the planet with weaponised turrets, unless other people set up turrets elsewhere. Turrets around the Data Hive are larger and more powerful, so it should be easy to tell. Additionally, they use large, very strong blast doors and the walls are of a different material.
The middle layer is where automated robots start to appear and the doors and walls are even more secure; they become indestructible by all means. The information found in the middle layer is more valuable and higher in quantity, so the reward is somewhat worth the risk.
The core is only very small and similarly indestructible. It is protected by a force field that one cannot enter. To gain access, one must disable all 12 of the core field generators which are located in several hard to reach locations in the middle layer. Surprisingly, the core has few defences once the force field is breached, and there is only a single computer at the center of it. The information here allows one to easily access any computer around the Data Hive and gain a map of the area, as well as some very valuable data. The HF understands that information about archaeotech is dangerous, but there is a small amount of classified information about real world archaeotech on this computer. Although one does not need clearance to get it, it is obviously extremely difficult to reach. The HF has made sure to make it obvious that unwarranted disclosure of this information is an excellent way to become an enemy of the entire HF.
