T.S. Irgas Unparalleled
A Zar - Class Destroyer bioship of the Unified Arkan Council, a member nation of the HF.
T.S. Irgas Unparalleled is particularly famous among UAC bioships. Bioships such as this stand as evidence for the UAC that biological starships are just as capable as mechanical ones, when designed well. They have survived a very large number of battles and was one of the first bioships built with Boson - Class Destroyer inspiration after the HF made first contact with them. The bioship's body has been upgraded many times in a similar way as regular HF ships, by using Harki to bioengineer the genome of the ship, which is located in the bridge, continually. Upon it's introduction, the bioship originally had a conventional digestive system and required a large amount of food to operate but the harkas developed antimatter organs as a power source, and this soon became T.S. Irgas Unparalleled's energy source as their entire digestive system was replaced. After this upgrade package was established, the old chemical drive system was replaced with a photon thruster more similar to that of HF starships, allowing it to more efficiently accelerate.
The crew and ship itself are very experienced, and the bioship desentivised to violence. Though no longer scared of battle, the UAC originally needed to treat it's trauma that it would sometimes get during battle, typically when the bioship itself became wounded. As more bioships of its kind was built, they mentally became less individual and more vehicle-like, responding only to it's crew's signals rather than it's own instinct. This also somewhat happened with T.S. Irgas Unparalleled, to a far less extreme extent because the crew and bioship are 'emotionally tied together', and making the bioship more vehicle-like would probably eliminate this morale boost. The crew know how to manage the ship's emotional responses, and the ship understands the limitations of it's crew, so the emotional limitation has been almost entirely eliminated. Every crew member has a friendship with the ship.
The ship has a track record with thousands of kills against enemy starships. As a bioship, the crew are quite careful as to not sustain any damage as bioships often have less armour than mechanical ships but make up for it in other ways, such as incorporating no matter plasma, which is highly dangerous on mechanical ships. By being able to support friendly forces with fire support, the Irgas Unparalleled can make an important difference in most battles, but has had to retreat many times after taking fire. Therapy or 'psychological repairs' can take days, but it also takes a similar timeframe to repair the bioship's body simultaneously.
Not every crew member survives every battle. The ship and crew of this ship have a unique culture where they occasionally hold ceremonies for those who were killed or otherwise died. They schedule this so that it does not interfere with battle, and helps improve morale despite the morale-sapping nature of death. The ship remembers all people who have died within it's body in particular, and especially if they are a crew member with a bond to the bioship.
Although the crew are sentient, the bioship is not.
