Just A Friendly Little Challenge

Occasionally you can find the Calypte Anna (subsp. Iridyon), also known as Forge Mother Hummingbird, in the World Anvil Discord Server handing out tiny challenges to fellow worldbuilding birdies- called "Hummingbird Quests".
So named because they're intended to be small, quick and flighty, and very unserious affairs- and you never quite know when one will be offered... These little challenges require at least 500 words (or as reasonably close as one can get) on a short prompt or topic of the Iridyon subspecies' choosing.

Thank you so very, very, very much for participating in one of my dorky little Hummingbird Quests! I'm glad I could be of at least a little inspiration to you, and help you build your world even a tiny bit more; I look forward to seeing more of your work!

As the Calypte Anna (subsp. Iridyon) takes its role as Forge Mother incredibly seriously, these challenges are meant merely to inspire its fellow worldbuilders- and never to embarrass or unduly stress them. For that reason, the rules for these challenges are lax, and creative "out of the box" interpretations of the chosen topics are heavily encouraged. In other words: If a participant can't make it to 500 words on a prompt- or has to be a little imaginative with how they define something like a "tree" in order to make the prompt work in their world- there's no problem at all! The entry still counts as long as the participant gave it their best go.

Likewise, Hummingbird Quests have no traditional "winners" of any sort. There are no actual prizes to be won for completing any of the challenges either. However, every single person who completes a challenge- and properly pings the Calypte Anna (subsp. Iridyon) on Discord (Salfige#1500) with the link to their entry- will get a cute comment on their entry article (example above) thanking them for their participation. You may even get yours featured here on this page. And you can be absolutely sure that the Calypte Anna (subsp. Iridyon) reads every last one of the entries submitted with glee, regardless of whether or not they get featured!
