Sack of Holding Item in Saleh'Alire | World Anvil

Sack of Holding

The Sack of Holding is easily the most common rucksack of any type owned. Truly, it is a familiar item which is owned by most people across all of Saleh'Alire, regardless of class or stratum- arguably surpassing even the simple Backpack. After all: From the lowliest Slave, to the common Peasant Farmer, and even a Nobleman in his Kitchen ... Everyone, everywhere, needs a sack of some sort. And of course, all the better if it's enchanted with even a little extra space to put things in.

Magical   Rarity
Common
The history of this common magical item is so widespread, however, that it's entirely unknown; having been developed and redeveloped so many times, it's impossible to truly say where the idea originates from. However, it does come in two forms: The Light version for one's everyday needs, and a Heavy version for those who need far more space and lifting.

. Dimensions Weight

Bag of Holding

Wondrous Item

Uncommon

This large burlap sack has been magically enhanced with a pocket dimension, allowing it to have an interior space considerably larger than its outside dimensions, and carry more weight than a normal transport sack despite weighing the same.
. Dimensions Weight
Exterior 3 ft by 5 ft 1 pound
Interior 64 Cubic ft 500 lbs
Removing an item from the sack requires a full action; If the bag is overloaded, pierced, or torn, it ruptures and is destroyed, and its Contents are scattered in the Liminal Plane. If the sack is turned upside down the contents spill out unharmed; a breathing creature inside the bag can only survive for up to a number of minutes equal to 10 divided by the number of Creatures (or a minimum of 1 minute), after which time they begin to suffocate.   Placing a bag of holding inside an extradimensional space created by another item such as a Handy Haversack, Portable Hole, or similar item instantly destroys both items and opens a gate to the Liminal Plane. The gate originates where the one item was placed inside the other. Any creature within 10 feet of the gate is sucked through it to a random Location on the Liminal Plane. The gate then closes; this gate is one-way only and can't be reopened.

Cost: 1 GM
Weight: 10 lbs
