Frestii

The frestii is a cookie made with the Staney obtained from the Ethrais. It is a typical food of Dhalgron and is usually eaten dessert. They are a strange combination of tastes as it is made with spicy and sweet ingredients, and served with sweet food and a hot drink. The frestii is dipped in a hot drink and then eaten, sometimes a sweetener is added after dipping it in the hot drink.

Materials

• Non cook bread
• Milk
• Butter
• Staney
• Water

• Honey
• Egg
• Salt
• Vegetable oil
• Flour

Steps

1. Mix until its not too sticky or floury, 500g of flour with 350ml of water, a bit of salt, and a teaspoon of vegetable oil.
2. Add a couple of glass of milk, two spoons of butter, a spoon of honey, and four egg yolks. Then mix it all.
3. Cover the mix with a warm, moist towel and let it rest in a warm place for 1 hour.
4. While the mix is warming, in another bowl, warm up staney (200g) and stir in the honey (50g), and butter (100g). Let it cool to lukewarm.
5. Make large, marble-sized, balls with the dough (first mix prepared), and let them rest, withot touching each other under another warm, moist towel for 15min.
6. Grease and heat the frying pan. If the frying pan has a pattern on it, the cookie will take form of the patter (see the image for example of a pattern).
7. Bake the dough ball until golden, both sides of it. Use some heavy stuff to press them versus the frying pan.
8. This step has to be done quickly after baking the dough. Cut the cookies in half (horizontallly), smear the syrup filling (second mix prepared) and sandwich the two halves toghether, pressing lightly.

Presentation

Presentation can change a lot depending on the place where you buy the frestii, but they usually come in a plate with five of them (three on a pilar and one or two diagonally resting on the other three, if there is a hot drink, at least one cookie will be resting on top the drink), usually served with some fruit, any hot drink, and maybe even some sweetener (such as chocolate syroup).
