Phandalin
Phandalin is a frontier mining town and a recent addition to the Lords' Alliance.
Campaign Recap
On Day 1 of the campaign (14 Tarsakh) in Neverwinter, Quinner Knox told Conor McGregor, Herb Stoner and Jory Undammuth) about a job that might interest them. His friend Gundren Rockseeker was looking for help escorting supplies to a town called Phandalin, and he said he could arrange a meeting with them in the morning. -- On Day 4 of the campaign, the adventuring party of Conor McGregor, Herb Stoner, Gwenlinn, Rayphlárd and Lords' Alliance agent Sildar Hallwinter arrived in Phandalin and immediately started clashing with the Redbrand Ruffians. A deadly fight in the Sleeping Giant resulted in several deaths for the Redbrands, including Seth Redbrand-Deceased. On Day 5, the party invaded the Redbrand Hideout under Tresendar Manor in the early morning...Government
At the start of the campaign, Phandalin had a simple local government. A townmaster was elected annually to serve as a judge in disputes and keep town records.
After townmaster Toblen Stonehill turned over the town to the Lords' Alliance, the alliance appointed Frederich Wulfrun as the first Lord of Phandalin. Lord Wulfrun oversees the Phandalin Town Council.
Defences
At the beginning of the campaign the town currently had no formal defenses like walls or garrisons, but the previous townmaster Harbin Wester did pay the Redbrand Ruffians to protect the town from attacks from the orcs of the Many Arrows Tribe.
After Frederich Wulfrun came into power, he brought guards from Neverwinter with him and formed the Phandalin Town Guard.

History
899
Clans of dwarves and gnomes from Phandalin made an agreement known as the Phandelver's Pact, by which they agreed to share Wave Echo Cave, a rich mine in a wondrous cavern near the town. In addition to its mineral wealth, the mine contained great magical power. Human spellcasters allied themselves with the dwarves and gnomes to channel and bind the energy into a great forge known as the Forge of Spells, where magic items could be crafted. Times were good, and Phandalin prospered.951
A powerful force of orcs and evil mercenary wizards swept through the Sword Coast region. These forces attacked Wave Echo Cave and tried to seize its riches and magic treasures. Human wizards fought alongside their dwarf and gnome allies to defend the Forge of Spells, and the ensuing battle destroyed much of the cavern. Few survived the cave-ins and tremors, and the location of Wave Echo Cave was lost to history ... until Gundren Rockseeker found it in 1492.1490
Harbin Wester won the annual election for Phandalin townmaster. It was later revealed that Toblen Stonehill received the most votes, but Harbin tricked the vote counter into counting his votes twice. Harbin then worked with Alex Redbrand to create a group of mercenaries to protect the town from the Many Arrows Tribe of orcs. That group came to be known the Redbrand Ruffians.1492
The Redbrand Ruffians started becoming known for receiving special treatment from townmaster Harbin Wester, and several townsfolk became frustrated by their lack of respect for others around them. Many citizens started viewing the Redbrands as the true authority in the town. The Lords' Alliance learned about this, and they sent agent Iarno Albrek-Deceased to Phandalin to learn more about the growing town with the long term goal of establishing a legitimate law enforcement presence. After leaving Neverwinter, Iarno went missing. Later that year, the Redbrands started causing even more trouble in town. Iarno, going by the pseudonym Glasstaff, began working for someone known as the Black Spider. The Black Spider sent Iarno with several of his bugbear henchmen to take over the Redbrands by force. Iarno led the group for several months, and he ordered the Redbrands to scare away any adventurers and intimidate the locals.Phandalin Townmasters
