Campaign Recap

Don-Jon and the Mine

Meeting Don-Jon

While attending the Phandalin Greengrass Festival, Collateral Damage met Don-Jon Raskin. Don-Jon told them that he worked for the Lords' Alliance, that his job was checking on various properties where they didn't want to go themselves. He explained that he arrived with Frederich Wulfrun's group from Neverwinter, and he was there to run the nearby Mountain's Toe Gold Mine for the alliance.

Adamantine Detected

On 14 Mirtul, while Collateral Damage was resting at New Treaath, Smōk used a rod of adamantine detection. One of the locations he detected was Mountain's Toe Gold Mine.

Missing Reward

On 17 Mirtul, Collateral Damage returned to Phandalin after defeating the dragon Cryovain. Frederich Wulfrun, the newly appointed Lord of Phandalin, explained to the adventurers that he didn't have the gold reward ready for them, but he sent Don-Jon Raskin to Mountain's Toe Gold Mine to retrieve it.

Lord Wulfrun then explained that they tried contacting Don-Jon multiple times recently through the sending spell, but he hasn't responded to their messages.

Learning About Loup Garou Lycanthropy

Werewolves Attack!

On 18 Mirtul, while camping along the Triboar Trail, Collateral Damage was attacked by a pack of werewolves. The adventurers survived the attack and killed the werewolves, but Shinzon Greenshadow was bitten and contracted lycanthropy.

After the attack, the group searched the bodies of the werewolves, and they found a pouch that one of them was carrying. The pouch included a map of the region, with lines extending from Mountain's Toe Gold Mine to multiple locations around the Triboar Trail, indicating that the werewolves probably came from the mine.

Meeting Samerel

On 21 Mirtul, Collateral Damage met with the cleric Samerel River in Triboar. Samerel detected disease, and he attempted to cure Shinzon's lycanthropy with a remove curse spell. The spell didn't work, and Samerel said that the only other explanation he knew of was that this strain of lycanthropy was from a loup garou, and that the only way to cure Shinzon would be to track down the loup garou and kill them.
