The Forge of Spells is a famous location inside the legendary Wave Echo Cave.

Purpose / Function

The Forge of Spells was created by the human wizards aligned with the Phandelver's Pact to craft magic items.

History

In the year 899, the clans of dwarves and gnomes that formed the Phandelver's Pact allied with human spellcasters to channel and bind the energy of Wave Echo Cave into a great forge known as the Forge of Spells, where magic items could be crafted.
In 951, a powerful force of orcs and evil mercenary wizards swept through the Sword Coast region. These forces attacked Wave Echo Cave, and the ensuing battle destroyed much of the cavern. Few survived the cave-ins and tremors, and the location of Wave Echo Cave was lost to history ... until Gundren Rockseeker found it in 1492.
