Butterskull Ranch

Butterskull Ranch, a property on the Triboar Trail between Conyberry and Triboar, is owned and managed by Alfonse "Big Al" Kalazorn.

Campaign Recap

On 19 Mirtul, Rayphlárd, Tubby and Saoki arrived at Butterskull Ranch. They saw Big Al and five ranch hands wandering the property, calling out "Petunia! Petunia! Come back! Petunia, where are you?"

While Tubby also started calling out for Petunia, Rayphlard spotted a cow in the distance beyond a hill to the east. They directed the cow back to the ranch, and Al and the farm hands were thankful for their help.

In exchange for helping them find the cow, Big Al allowed the group to search his property for the spot on Rayphlard's treasure map. Saoki helped direct them to the X on the map, and after a short time digging they found the treasure: 20 PP, a magic compass, and another treasure map. The new treasure map seemed to lead to a location just outside Triboar.

Big Al welcomed the group into the farmhouse for a meal. During the meal, Tubby used his new bardic ability to give an enthralling performance, charming Big Al while Rayphlard wandered off. Rayphlard found Big Al's bedroom and decided to steal 1 PP and 135 GP, all but 1 PP and 1 GP that Big Al owned; Rayphlard left a fishing hook in place of the coins, and the three visitors left and continued their travels.

Purpose / Function

In addition to its corn, milk and other products, Butterskull Ranch is most well-known for its "butterskulls." Big Al Kalazorn has perfected his method of shaping butter into a realistic, human-sized skull, and they have become popular throughout Northwest Faerûn. Occasionally, travelers stop at the ranch to purchase butterskulls to bring back to their friends and family.

Architecture

Along the Triboar Trail, a sign directs travelers to the ranch and reads "Butterskull Ranch, home of the world-famous butterskulls! Turn here."

The ranch is located on a large plot of land just north of the trail and nestled between two hills. The property includes corn fields, an apple orchard, gardens, a pasture, and a two-story farmhouse next to a pond.
