Rockseeker Camp

The Rockseeker Camp is just north of Phandalin in the ruins of an old stone house. It was the home of Gundren Rockseeker-Deceased, Nundro Rockseeker and Tharden Rockseeker-Deceased of the Rockseeker Family.   On Day 17 of the campaign, Nundro returned to Phandalin after being rescued by Collateral Damage in Wave Echo Cave. Collateral Damage had several items that previously belonged to Lords' Alliance agent Sildar Hallwinter, and they were worried they might see Sildar in Phandalin, so they asked Nundro to store the items at his camp. Nundro agreed.   Later that evening, Herb Stoner went to the Rockseeker Camp while the rest of Collateral Damage traveled into town. Herb saw where Sildar's items were piled in a corner, then he noticed an open door leading to a cellar. Herb went into the cellar and saw four zombies and an ogre zombie (Gog). He cast fireball and killed the four zombies, but the ogre zombie survived and pursued him. Herb also saw an undead version of King Grol-Deceased approaching, and he then escaped up the stairs and rushed away on his horse.   On Day 18 (Greengrass), Herb brought the rest of Collateral Damage - as well as Daran and Garaele Edermath - back to the Rockseeker Camp cellar. The party discovered Argus Skeel, six reanimated members of the Phandalin Town Guard, the undead monsters Herb saw the night before, and an undead goblin abomination. Argus escaped, but the party defeated the rest of the undead in the cellar. After combat, the group recovered Sildar's items and investigated tunnels that the undead monsters had been digging in two directions. The party also found a letter to Argus that read: "Argus, Hamun alerted us to watch for a group with a human, a blue dragonborn, and a gnome. They came to Old Owl Well and acted suspicious. Hamun attempted to distract them by sending them to the banshee in Neverwinter Wood. Our work on the coast must not be interrupted. I’ve sent reinforcements to Hamun, but your job to find information is critical. Learn what you can in Phandalin, and eliminate anyone in your way. Hamun will be delivering new sentries to you soon. UM." The letter did not have a date.

Alterations

The Rockseeker Family hung several canvas coverings over the ruined stone walls like tarps to create a shelter.

Architecture

All that remains of the old stone house are some stone walls and a chimney. A door in the stone foundation leads to a cellar.

History

Before the campaign started, Gundren Rockseeker-Deceased, Nundro Rockseeker and Tharden Rockseeker-Deceased lived at the Rockseeker Camp while taking miscellaneous mining jobs around Phandalin.   After coming up with their plans to explore Wave Echo Cave, Gundren traveled to Neverwinter to get supplies while Nundro and Tharden made camp near the cave entrance.
