Campaign Recap

Rayphlárd's Homecoming (4 Mirtul)

On 4 Mirtul, Collateral Damage and their new friend Mystery Sparkle arrived in Leilon in the early evening. Rayphlárd led them to the town gates, and they paid the entry fee to the members of the town guard.

Rayphlard then led the group to his family's home and business, the House of Razaycrynth. For more information, view the House of Razaycrynth page.

First Night in Leilon (4 Mirtul)

After meeting Rayphlárd's family, Collateral Damage and Mystery Sparkle left the House of Razaycrynth to rent rooms at the Umber Hulk's Shell Inn. They met the bartender Alion Malwyn and reserved their rooms. Visit the Umber Hulk's Shell Inn page for more details.

The group of six then split into two groups. Conor McGregor, Herb Stoner and Misty went looking for the fight club, and Rayphlard, Shinzon Greenshadow and Tubby left to go shopping.

Evening Activities

Rayphlárd, Shinzon and Tubby headed toward Torver's Post. They first passed the Shrine of Tyr and then the Shrine of Lathander. While walking, Rayphlard spotted a new business called Aubrey’s Peculiarities Shoppe.

As they passed the Shrine of Lathander, the trio met a halfling blacksmith named Barry Brightshine, who had packed up his things and was heading back to the temple. Shinzon asked Barry about his services, and Barry told him to meet him the following morning in the town square.

The trio then arrived at Torver's Post. Visit the Torver's Post page for more details.

Their final stop of the evening was Aubrey's Peculiarities Shoppe. Visit the Aubrey’s Peculiarities Shoppe page for more details.

Meanwhile, Conor, Herb and Mystery followed a group of tough-looking individuals to the Leilon Fight Club. Visit the Leilon Fight Club page for more details.

The group (except Mystery, she wandered off with Bardy McFly) reunited at Umber Hulk's Shell Inn at the end of the night. Visit the Umber Hulk's Shell Inn page for more details.

Downtime in Leilon (5 Mirtul)

On 5 Mirtul, Herb decided to stay in his room at the Umber Hulk's Shell Inn and spend his day reading Volo's Tome of Understanding while the rest of Collateral Damage explored the town.

Rayphlárd and Tubby Make a Shield

Rayphlárd decided to spend his day crafting a shield with his woodcarving tools. He and Tubby left the town gates and entered the nearby forest. Rayphlard used his knowledge of the surrounding area to find the best possible spot for the kind of tree that would be easy to harvest and strong enough to use for a shield. He and Tubby then placed the immovable rod next to a tree and used their combined strength to push it to the ground. They then returned to the House of Razaycrynth and spent the rest of the daytime hours crafting a wooden shield out of the tree.

Shinzon Hunts for Ingredients

Shinzon Greenshadow started his day by searching for potion and poison ingredients on Idol Island thanks to a tip he received from Crystal Torver the previous night. Visit the Idol Island page for more details.

Conor Makes a Friend

Conor McGregor spent his day carousing around town, exploring the shops and inns and other areas of Leilon. He returned to Umber Hulk's Shell Inn and sat down next to Tommy Cornell, a member of the fight club he recognized from the previous night. Conor and Tommy got along well, and Tommy agreed to put in a good work for Conor with Toburny Lynnris before that SmackUp! that night.

Back at the Inn

In the late afternoon, Collateral Damage met back up at the Umber Hulk's Shell Inn. They got to know Conor's new friend Tommy, then talked with Rayphlárd's cousin Nárthurl about the Leilon Town Council meeting that night. Visit the Umber Hulk's Shell Inn page for more details.

Leilon Town Council Meeting (5 Mirtul)

Collateral Damage and Nárthurl arrived at the Leilon Town Hall for the meeting of the Leilon Town Council. For details about what happened at the meeting, visit the Leilon Town Council page.

After the Town Council Meeting (5 Mirtul)

After the Leilon Town Council meeting, while still in the Leilon Town Hall, Collateral Damage saw Tommy Cornell enter the room. Tommy walked over to Toburny Lynnris, and they talked briefly.

Toburny then approached the group, saying "So Tommy here says we should give you guys a shot tonight at SmackUp! Well, what do you think? Do you want some solo fights, some team challenges, what do you think?" The group was noncommittal, saying they may come, and Conor McGregor sounded the most interested.
Meeting Amethyst

As Collateral Damage left the building, the hooded figure that followed Val Thollo into the town council meeting approached them. The individual pulled back her hood, revealing the form a half-dwarf earth genasi with purple hair, dark purplish gray skin with geode-like streaks and embedded gems. She said "My name is Amethyst. If you want to know more about the Cult of Talos, we should talk."

Rayphlárd offered to go back to the House of Razaycrynth where they could meet privately, and he led the group there. Visit the Amethyst Mountainbender page for more details about their conversation.

Herb Checks on Quinn and Berrian

After Amethyst Mountainbender left, Collateral Damage stayed at the House of Razaycrynth a bit longer while Herb Stoner got out his crystal ball.

First, he cast scrying to see what Quinner Knox was doing back in Phandalin. He was able to see Quinner sitting at the bar at Goat Lips, talking with one other individual. Herb heard Quinner say that he was out of options, that they should go their separate ways if he can't come up with the gold. The other figure says they would go back to Mirabar, while Quinner says he would go back to Phandalin.

Next, Herb cast scrying to see what Berrian Venhorn was doing. Herb saw a figure in a dark room, lit only by a candle. He wasn't able to make out much of the figure, but they were obviously not a half-elf like Berrian. Herb saw the figure holding a book, writing something inside it, then reviewing something else in the book. Herb's vision wasn't strong enough in the spell to make out the writing, but he could see enough of the book to be able to recognize it later...

SmackUp!

After Herb Stoner finished his scrying spells, Collateral Damage decided to accept Toburny Lynnris' offer and return to the Leilon Fight Club for "SmackUp!"

The first fight on the card was the Lords of War (a pair of half-orcs covered in war paint going by the names Warlord Agony and Warlord Pain) in a timed zombie challenge. The Lords of War easily destroyed the horde of zombies, setting a new record for the club.

Next up was Tommy Cornell defending his championship against Barry Brightshine, who was going by the name "The Beast." Tommy defeated The Beast to remain undefeated as the club's champion.

The final fight of the card was Conor McGregor (going by the name "Sheamus") facing Snimmith Wigglefoot, a gnome cleric of the trickery domain in clown makeup who went by the name "Whippy the Clown." Conor was able to win his solo debut.

Demographics

Many of Leilon's inhabitants hail from Neverwinter and are in the paid service of Lord Dagult Neverember. Lord Neverember tasked them with turning Leilon into a fortified settlement to ward off threats from the Mere of Dead Men and protect the city's merchants traveling south toward Waterdeep.

Defences

Leilon's defenses, led by the Leilon Town Guard, include a stockade defending the sections of the town accessible by land. The remaining sections of the town - the southwest edge - are accessible via swampland from the Mere of Dead Men.

Industry & Trade

Although Leilon is located 10 miles east of the Sea of Swords, barges transport goods from the town to the coast via the shallow mud flats on the northern edge of the Mere of Dead Men.

History

Leilon was once a mining town that produced copper, nickel and silver to sell in Waterdeep and other closer settlements in the Sword Coast. Leilon also had small port where merchants sometimes offloaded goods on barges to be transported elsewhere via the Sea of Swords. Shortly after the town was founded, a family of blue dragonborn calling themselves the Light of Razaycrynth moved in and opened a restaurant and fishing business.

In 1385, the town was destroyed after monstrous creatures escaped from the House of Thalivar, a tower in the center of town belonging to a wizard named Thalivar. The Swords of Leilon, an adventuring party, tried to defend the town from the creatures, but the creatures destroyed the town and killed most of the inhabitants. Among the citizens who survived the event were the Light of Razaycrynth, who hid from the creatures in their underground safe house. In the aftermath of the fall of Leilon, the Light of Razaycrynth and other families emerged and continued living in the ruins of the town. Over the years, some families stayed, but most moved away.

After the eruption of Mount Hotenow in 1451, miners previously based around Mount Hotenow began relocating south, including Leilon. In the following years, mining activity in the Sword Mountains slowly increased near Leilon and further inland near Phandalin, and the towns continued growing modestly.

In 1485, Lord Dagult Neverember of Neverwinter sent military forces and settlers to rebuild Leilon as a new strategic location for Neverwinter. Lord Neverember was seeking to protect merchants traveling through the Mere of Dead Men via the High Road. The inhabitants of Leilon welcomed the settlers from Neverwinter, as they brought security and stability.

Architecture

Leilon's structures are mostly thatched roof buildings. The House of Thalivar is notable both due to its size and its age; the tower is four times taller than any other buildings in town, and it is one of the few buildings that survived the town's destruction in 1385.

Geography

Leilon is located 10 miles east of the Sea of Swords on the northern edge of the Mere of Dead Men.
