Iarno Albrek-Deceased
Iarno Albrek (a.k.a. Glasstaff)
Iarno Albrek was a male human wizard leader of the Redbrand Ruffians in Phandalin and former member of the Lords' Alliance.
On Day 4 of the campaign, Conor McGregor, Herb Stoner, Gwenlinn, Rayphlárd and Lords' Alliance agent Sildar Hallwinter visited the Phandalin Miners' Exchange and met Halia Thornton. Halia offered the group 100 GP to kill Glasstaff and bring her back any written correspondence in his room.
On Day 5, Sildar - who was searching for Iarno after he cut off communications with the Lords' Alliance - discovered that Iarno was the notorious Glasstaff who had taken over the Redbrand Ruffians. Sildar, Conor, Herb, Gwenlinn and Rayphlard were attempting to confront the Redbrands in the Redbrand Hideout under Tresendar Manor. The group arrived in Iarno's quarters, and Iarno escaped while the group fought his bugbear guard.
On Day 6, Iarno ambushed Conor, Herb and Rayphlard when they were leaving Phandalin, but Iarno died in the fight. After the fight, Herb began using Iarno's glass staff, which he discovered was a Staff of Defense.
Physical Description
Specialized Equipment
Iarno previously wielded the Staff of Defense - the glass staff that was the origin of his pseudonym - but it was taken by Herb Stoner after Iarno died attempting to ambush the party outside of Phandalin.

Personal history
Iarno was an agent of the Lords' Alliance based in Neverwinter. The alliance sent him to Phandalin in 1492 to learn more about the town and eventually establish a local law enforcement presence.
Sometime between leaving Neverwinter and the start of the campaign, Iarno started working for the Black Spider and going by the pseudonym Glasstaff (this was proven by the Letter from The Black Spider to Iarno Albrek found by the party in the Redbrand Hideout). With the help of some bugbears sent by the Black Spider, Glasstaff took over the Redbrand Ruffians by force.
Iarno ordered the Redbrands to scare away adventurers and intimidate the Phandalin locals; the Redbrands previously left the townsfolk alone for the most part. Iarno stitched red Rs into each of the members' black cloaks, and he had a Listening Helmet he used to monitor each of them. During the time under Iarno's leadership, the Redbrands were known to have murdered at least one Phandalin citizen (Thel Dendrar) and terrorized many more.
