Staff of Defense

The Staff of Defense was first seen by the party while it was in use by Iarno Albrek-Deceased in the Redbrand Hideout under Tresendar Manor in Phandalin on Day 5 of the campaign. Iarno escaped that battle.
On Day 6, Iarno attempted to ambush Conor McGregor, Herb Stoner and Rayphlárd as they left Phandalin, but the party defeated Iarno and Herb took the staff.

Mechanics & Inner Workings

After attuning to the staff, the user gains a +1 bonus to their armor class and the ability to cast mage armor and shield a limited number of times.

Significance

Iarno Albrek-Deceased began calling himself "Glasstaff" due to the staff's glass appearance.
