Primarin

Dhalmain Island by Naelin
Located on the northeast coast of the Dhalmain Island lies a city entirely devised as a means to honour Primarite, the Law of Space in the Dhalmanite religion of Autonomism.
The city is an ever-expanding settlement of busy markets and busier people, always striving for more and bigger.

Founding

The city was founded in 2779 E.Alz by priests of Primarite with the purpose of honouring the Law of Space by expanding the physical space dedicated to her.
The priests chose a promising spot in the mostly uninhabited north end of the island, generally ignored by the rest of the population due to the threat of tetsus in the area, and erected the first areas of the temple in a high spot with a view of the river and coast.   These settlers brought their families and preached to Primarite's followers back in the rest of the country to follow them in their goal, offering lands, loans and help from the Temple to build and settle in the area.

Industry

The city of Primarin takes advantage of its location to be a trading hub in close connection with the northwest area of the Kingdom of Thaur as well as receiving many traders from the Principality of Red Crest in their port.
It also serves the function of a distribution centre, where large amounts of cargo is dropped and sold at a smaller price to merchants from the rest of the island that travel to get the latest Red Crestian and Larean products, and many citizens make a living of delivering products to the south and west of the island.   Religious tourism is of course also a big draw of the city, with many stores, inns and accomodations dedicated solely to receive devoutees of Primarite coming on peregrination.

Important Locations

Temple of Primarite

The main Temple of Primarite is located in the center of the town, it is a marvellous, tall building adorned with purple and blue gemstones and bas reliefs.
True to the nature of their deity, the Temple has expanded since its original innauguration, to the point of "swallowing" some of the buildings around it.

Damage

The height of the temple caused it to suffer extensive damage during The High Rust in 3014 E.Alz, with large areas of its towers, terraces and higher floors being consumed by rust and collapsing in a few areas.
Several priests lost their lives to the rust due to living in the temple's quarters in high floors, and two died as a result of part of the structure of a tower collapsing on them.
As soon as the High Rust had passed for sure, repair works were started on the temple, replacing every rusted stone or beam for new ones and, in true Primarin fashion, taking the opportunity to make the temple even bigger and higher.
While the High Rust generated a degree of "fear of heights" in the architectural trends of the entire archipelago, priests of Primarite were quick to determine that limiting their growth due to fear of a past catastrophe would be a direct affront to everything they held as sacred, with the town being now one of the few places where the building of high towers has not decreased after the Rust.

Port

Strategically located just inside of the river mouth, Primarin's port is very close to the west coast of the Thaur Island and easily accesible for the people of Red Crest who are otherwise only close to the north side of Thaur.   The port receives a huge trafic from these two islands, which would otherwise need to do a much larger travel to the City of Endure, Dhalmain's capital.
The goods receives in the port seldom leave the town without going first through the Trading Plaza.

Trading Plaza

Close to the port, the town holds a big and busy trading plaza, adourned with a massive statue of Primarite, whose wings fuse with the floor which continues the pattern of the wings until it fades into the streets.   The area is covered in hundreds of stalls of wood and cloth occupied by merchants and resellers offering goods from every kind of industry and origin. The plaza is visited by people from the entire island, and is organically divided in a front section that sells items to the general public, and a back section that sells large quantities to business.

Observatory

The highest point of the town is dedicated to an astronomy academy containing an observatory with the biggest telescope in the island.
The academy manages an exchange program with the people of Ruh Island to bring and send astronomers from one island to the other and get updated on the most recent advancements and discoveries on each side of the archipelago.

Danae by Naelin
The cartographer Danae from the City of Birdland in Thaur was commissioned to draw a map of the Haan Archipelago for the second edition of The Book of the Habits and Beasts, published in the 3rd of Birthing, 3 E.Ru.   Danae took advantage of the enclyclopaedia's team of researchers to gather precise information and went himself into research expeditions to survey remote areas. His work resulted in what is considered the most accurate and widespread map of the Archipelago to this day, which details even most of the coasts of the Savage Isles.
