Genetics and Reproduction

Spiritwoods reproduce with large fruits the size of a cantaloupe. The flesh of the fruit itself can be eaten, but it is not greatly edible, due to it being a very potent hallucinogenic. Each fruit contains between four to eight seeds. The seeds are fairly large, each being about the size of a hens egg, and extremely smooth to the touch, like velvet. Each tree, if it is female, will begin to produce fruit at the age of forty, and will continue to do so every five years for the remainder of its life.

Spiritwood Tree seeds take a year to germinate, though this process can be sped up by a powerful Druid.   The trees will begin to grow until they reach their full height by age thirty five.
