Moon Elf Cadre
A Moon Elf Cadre is a military unit within The Valcoran Empire.
Composition
Manpower
A Cadre is typically made up of between four to six members.
Usually this is broken down to three to four strict mages, and the last one to three being arcane archers, eldritch knights, or arcane tricksters.
Equipment
Every member of the Cadre is equipped in some way with a magical artifact made from, or enhanced by, a crystal made of Moon Tears. The item usually allows them to overload a spell, enhance the time an enchantment will last, reduce the casting time of a certain spell, or act as a temporary spell slot.
Structure
The Cadre is commanded by the highest ranked family member of the group, usually male.
Ina few rare circumstances they are female led, but that is usually due to the Cadre being entirely female.
History
Historical loyalties
Since their inception after the Moon Elf species came to Torrezon, the Cadre's have only ever held two loyalties.
One to whom so ever holds the title of First of the Moon within the Moon Elves themselves, and to the Empress Verona Elmahdy.
Of the two, it is understood but not said, that their loyalty to their own people is stronger than that of their loyalty to their Empress. It is also said, that the Empress does her best not to test that loyalty, a notion that some within the empire believe to be false due to her ruthless outlook.
