Neverwinter Stories: Book One – Chapter Seven

General Summary

What followed was their toughest battle yet. Belak the Outcast and his experiments fought like animals while two of the lost adventurers, Sharwyn Hucrele and Sir Braford, reinforced them — their minds taken by the Gulthias Tree. The fires from before spread around them, the two sides locked in a fight to the death. An ethereal fog bellowed from the ghastly tree as the smoke gathered. Belak's madness could only bring him so far. Unit 7-5-3 delivered the final blow as the other heroes rescued the enthralled adventurers and Erky Timbers took Belak's satchel. The party fled the scene gasping for air — earth ripping under foot as the heat beard down on them.
Exhausted and with their goal in hand, the party soon discovered that Balsag had learned of his tribe's destruction and was heading to the upper level. With no wishes to bespeak their graves, the party rested at a nearby shrine and began discussing their next coarse of action. During this time, Markus and Erky went through Belak's satchel. In it they found his journal which cataloged his time toiling away in the Sunless Citadel. Inside the journal were two near identical maps, of which the origin and purpose of was unknown.
