Neverwinter Stories: Book One – Chapter Twenty

General Summary

While there were certainly a few close calls, our heroes managed to fell the shadowy beast with no deaths of their own. Exhausted, the party set up camp and spent the next eight hours recovering their strength and discussing their plans. During this time, they discovered the body of a Mirabaran scout loaded with supplies and a written order to make contact with a "recently discovered resistance".

Fully rested and rearing to go, they set back out on their journey to the depths below Heim Haug. Not more that ten minutes later did they happen across another set of natural caverns. Unlike the previous one, these caves were inhabited by many orcs, one that the party was keen on avoiding. After applying some clever makeup done by Half-Moon the party attempted to sneak through the many orcs, but their progress was halted by their leader; a proud orog named Grnak. The party quickly learned that Grnak and the orcs were actually enemies of the Giants of Heim Haug, having been former slaves to the cruel giants. He interrogated the party, quickly sussing out their ruse and seeking their true purpose. Lilith Blackheart revealed to him that they had come to Heim Haug to rescue their captured allies and to truly kill the vile GeorGedor. Half-Moon proposed a temporary alliance, an offer that Grnak and his many escaped brethren gleefully accepted.

Now with an army of allied orcs behind them, the party prepared for their attack on the hill giant steading and trials sure to come.
