Neverwinter Stories: Campaign 1 — Session 24
Book One: The Trees of Life and Death – Chapter Twenty-Four: Spring Break
General Summary
For the next two months our heroes set about completing a great number of personal goals; all preparing in their own sperate ways. Most of the adventurers stayed in Heim Haug to further develop their talents, but not all. Alessandra and Lilith both went to investigate the disappearance of Cooper Icebrook at Icebrook Dairy. After which the two princesses traveled to Xantharl's Keep, where they trained to with Jh'an Relic to better understand the arcane. They also found time to get in touch with a master tailor, who outfitted them in the finest gowns he could provide.
During this time, Askra and Markus traveled to Mirabar and got busy with the creation of mithral armor among other magical armaments after delivering GeorGedor's heads to Narbeck Horn. On one of his breaks, Markus accidentally came into contact with Grevrim the Arytexar again, this time leaving the ancient man's sanctuary with a spiritual manifestation of himself in tow. Askra also took some time to study up on half-dragons. She read about their biology, interesting chemical reactions, and a of a famous half-dragon from centuries ago—only remembered as "The Platinum Knight". Alessandra coincidentally also took to a bit of crafting, creating a few magic items to include in Pickled Pete's rebuild of the party's wagon.
Half-Moon spent quite of a lot of her free time roaming around the countryside, boozing and socializing with the locals. When not drinking she developed her magics, learned to paint with a famous shield dwarf artist, and even used her new found talents to flirt with a gold dwarf tavern girl at the Bear and Black Buckler. Not only that, but the bard, Alessandra, Markus, and Askra reunited in Mirabar and traveled to Longsaddle to deal with some poachers on behalf of the Harpell family.
The aftermath of this quest lead to the forge cleric and dragon knight to taking a short trip to Triboar, where they met the Grasswinds, delivered a spare redwing griffon egg to Vernon, and vandalize some private property. Then they traveled back to Oakhurst, where the two delved back into the depths below the Sunless Citadel. Down in the Underdark the two found the kruthik hive from before, this time with the goal of slaying their hive lord. Thwarting the kruthiks' attempts to stop their advance, they entered the hive's royal chamber and battled their lord atop a sheet of igneous rock floating on a pool of magma. The creature's unusual vampiric power and intellect proved to be formidable, but through their own cunning the adventurers persevered on their hunt, slaying the hive lord.
Quick as wind the two busy months passed by, and our heroes—now dubbed the Redwings—finally rendezvoused at Heim Haug for fine food, good company, and intense negotiation.
