Neverwinter Stories: Book One – Chapter Five

General Summary

After resting in a chamber prepared just for them, our heroes spent the few hours before the celebration stretching their legs and exploring the aftermath. They couldn't find Markus anywhere, so Alessandra spent some time walking Calcryx on the surface, while Unit 7-5-3 and Zalak explored a few rooms they had missed on their first delve.
Eventually the festivities began. The great feast was quickly prepared, but the quality was greater than expected. The food and wine was good, the music was acceptable, and an art competition was held as the main event — which Alessandra won. During all this, Markus appeared out of thin air, rejoining the party and avoiding all questions of where he had been. The feast lasted for many hours, after which a reward ceremony was conducted by Yusdrayl. Every member was given one magic item of their choice from her private collection, and she bestowed upon them a magical cloak enchanted with her own blood. With the festivities over, the party regrouped in Durnn's now empty throne room, and descended down the mysterious shaft.
Their expedition lead to a heavily lived in cave — the home of Balsag the hunter. Alessandra and Zalak's efforts to communicate with the bugbear were met with an unusual hospitality, and before long our heroes found themselves sitting around his campfire chatting about recent events and feeding his new pet fire snake. Balsag was unaware of the attack on the Durbuluk the party committed, only knowing that Durnn was dead and thinking that Grenl must have revolted. Balsag then revealed that Miguel was with him, resting in his bed after a recent adventure they had gone on.
