Book One: The Trees of Life and Death – Chapter Twenty-Seven: Group Investigation

General Summary

Before the party were three corridors. Lilith excused herself so she could return her newborn griffon to the wagon while the party continued to investigate. The first path they explored led to a room that contained a tarpit where a small group of boggles called home. Half-Moon negotiated with their leader, a fey called Svlebe, and promised him that they would be rid his home of blights in exchange for guidance through the area. he agreed, and after digging through some rubble and unearthing some wealth and a deck of illusions, they continued on to the second corridor.

The Redwings carefully navigated the dangerous terrain: a deep pit and a heavy heavy portcullis. First they found a room which contained a broken flowing fountain and a magic door with an abyssal riddle etched above it. While they were trying to solve it, Half-Moon stumbled onto a near empty treasury. From a crack in the wall came a troop of goblin warriors led by their champion, Denda. Although they were first met with hostility from the party, They explained that they were trying to investigate why their water had grown putrid as well. The two groups reconciled their differences and agreed to cooperate in their now joint investigation. The group moved on from the riddle bearing door and slipped through some rubble to another area. Suddenly, from the dark of the new chamber, a massive blight charged at some of the adventurers as they emerged. The party was split—the blight's ambush sprung. The Redwings struggled to reunited in the new room, but as they slowly trickled in they beat back their assailants. Eventually they overcame the opposition and sent the last few blight scurrying back to their nest.

Rewards Granted

Through her own vices, Half-Moon earned the temporary cooperation of Svlebe. The party found a complete deck of illusions.

the party spoke briefly with Sheldanna and Lukas before parleying with Svlebe and his fellow boggles.

Not long after they negotiated a temporary alliance with Denda and her troop of goblin warriors.
