Neverwinter Stories: Book One – Chapter Nine

General Summary

After emerging from the citadel the party reunited with Evanolhis, who congratulated them on their success and offered aid in the form of a guidance stone. However, there was no reward beyond imagine like she promised, but instead an ominous warning about the future. She sent the party on their way, promising to still support our heroes on their personal quests.   For the next two weeks the party went their separate ways. After everyone had spent time developing their new found skills, they set about other tasks. Miguel spent many nights with the locals and his good friend Erky Timbers. Many of those nights were spent at the Ol' Boar Inn, where he made many new friends but was also banned from the inn for being a bit too rambunctious.   During her training, Alessandra was contacted by an imp name Jekyll who claimed to be in her service, and a mysterious note was left on her bed one night that read, "Stay clear of the jewel, for the Ashmadai know you. -D.E." She later questioned the locals and consulted old texts for information on Asmodeus and his followers. Her efforts were fruitful, as she learned that a dwarf named Worvil "the Weevil" Forkbeard had come into contact with them not too many months ago.   Lilith began making efforts toward amassing her undead horde. She brought corpses from the Sunless Citadel to a place called the Old Tower north of Oakhurst for safe keeping. There she met and befriended a grieving hill giant named Moog, whose husband, Arog, was killed. As a showing of appreciation to her new friend, Moog also agreed to protect Lilith's bodies until she returned.   Markus and Unit 7-5-3 spend their time together, crafting magic items as quickly as they could. The first was a set of gauntlets of ogre power. To finish these they had to beat an ogre in a contest of strength while wearing them. However, due to their cheating the gauntlets became cursed, making the wearer as dumb as an ogre as well. The second was a cloak of protection, which was made using the carapace of an alpha kruthik.    After twenty days the group got back together, received their reward for finding all four lost adventurers; saw Sir Braford, Sharwyn Hucrele, and Erky off; and began discussion on their next objective.
